Hey all,
So I sort of lurked and followed this thread for a while. I was interested in these LEDs because:
1.) I need brighter lights at night because as I get older, my night vision is getting worse. Not sure if it's my astigmatism, but it's made for some white knuckle drives down I70 during ski season.
2.) HID retrofits and upgrades looked way too involved for me and my 97. I had a hard time understanding exactly what to do, and even whether or not some of the retrofits were legal, safe, etc.
3.) These LEDs seemed like a happy middle ground between my Sylvania UltraStars and HIDs, and the price wasn't too bad at all.
I pulled the trigger on the ones linked to the eBay GTLightingUSA's listing (
here )
I received a message from the seller that said
"Hi, sorry for the delay, We has some problem with this blue edition H4 lately. some buyer complain high beam not working.
so I am either send you the JDM 60w 6000 LUMEN h4 instead or give you the full refund
I am sorry "
So, I asked if he was sure they're compatible with my 97 T4R, and he said
"yup man,,,,i am using it on my sequoia "
I figured, what the hell, why not? It's a pretty significant lumen upgrade, and at no cost to me. I haven't had a chance to install them yet, but with Daylight Savings making me drive at night more, I'm going to as soon as the temps are above single digits in Denver.
I also wanted to post that just so the people who bought the h4 blue editions from him know that there might be some issues. The message sort of made me worried about the integrity of the ones he offered to substitute, but it's a gamble that I can take.
I'll post some pics when I get them in. Does anyone have a simple picture of what the beam aim should look like? I've had bad luck adjusting mine, and the tape and wall method is intimidating for some reason (really have no idea why, but my head is weird like that sometimes). If anyone has a picture of their headlight aim on a lifted t4r, I'd love to see it just as a rough guide. I don't know why I've had such a hard time aiming these things, but I have.
Cheers!
