3rd gen LED headlights!

I'm interested in picking up a pair, but why are they $250 when you can get them HERE for $150?

Light output seem the same on both sets.
Low beam: 3200 lumens/bulb High beam: 3600 lumens/bulb
I think you stumbled across the right thing. I've seen bright ass led before and there are pretty good reviews on them, Tacoma world has a company consultant for them on there and he's commented on there as recently as last week. They come with a 2 year warranty. Despite the back order I think I may have convinced myself to just say screw it and give it a shot.
LIFETIM. ON THE OTHER HAND...
there is a 30+ thread on these at Tacoma world as well and there a multiple people who have had two and three sets of these off of warranty because they don't last.

1500LM is NOT enough light for headlights. Go on ebay and search 9003 CREE 4800LM LED headlight bulbs.

Yes, the set I got are both low & hi. They are equivalent to HID except they don't blind oncoming traffic. I got the 5000k color, they seem to be the closest to white. 600k starts getting a bit on the blueish side.

These are the one's I have. I was wrong, mine ARE 6000k in color. I have been VERY happy with them. I had them on for about 6 months now. Keep in mind with our day time running lamps, these lights will flicker (a little) because of the reduced voltage. Once you put your headlights on, they get brighter!

I have tried both HID & CREE LED and I have to say I am much happier with LED. You must make sure you get bright enough one's. As I mentioned in my previous post, they will flicker a little while on day time running lamps because of the reduced voltage, does not bother me one bit.

Check the ebay link in my previous post for the type I purchased.

Note that you will have to cut the rubber boot on your headlamps in order to fit them in. Some people simply remove the boot but I didn't want any water or moisture to enter my lamp.

Thanks for the help [MENTION=119115]Sculsz[/MENTION]. The ones you linked are sold out sadly, so I may just go with the set I linked, even though the wattage is slightly lower, unless you would advise against it.

When I ran HID's in my last 4runner I had to cut the rubber boot as well like you mentioned, I just made a slit in one side though so I could leave the boot on for some additional protection.

Do these ebay LED you guys are talking about above work in the old style lens (I have a '97) or do you have to have the newer clear type lens?

Are the ebay leds without the cooling fan still available?

Also, very concerned about the models with fans on the back of them... seems like they would break when I go off road with all the vibrations, dust, dirt, water, and sand.

The set I am running do NOT have fans built in. I thought the same thing you did about them not lasting long.

I'm still wanting to know how these compare to the Piaa bulbs I'm running. I've sold a ton of the those over the years and I loved the light output and the color.

I've yet to see a good name brand manufacture offer these leds yet, so I've been hesitant to offer anything. Piaa did recently came out with some leds, but only for fogs, H3's. No H4's yet, and there may be a reason.

The lights i'm running are pretty much white but they do have a slight bluish tint. You may want 4700k to 5000k color. I am currently running 6000k. The blue ones are closer to 8000k.
