3rd Gen Retrofits

Are you still doing these? On and off, or at all?

PM sent. Local member.

I've done quite a few retrofits over the past couple years. Before this summer I had ONE warranty issue. Ever.

This summer I did a lot of them. A lot, a lot.

For whatever reason, almost every single set had to have at LEAST one part replaced under warranty. Bulbs, ballasts, and igniters have all been replaced within weeks, or even days of the end-user receiving their lights.

Due to this, and TRS not wanting to ship warranty products directly to the end user anymore, I am done.

The biggest issue seems to be with the bulbs. There's a metal band (I imagine it's a ground) around the base that is breaking, or not put together correctly. You'll notice it VERY hard to connect the plug to the bulb, and then it will work intermittently.

Here's an image of a brand new bulb, straight out of the box. Notice how that metal "band" at the base isn't closed...

Good luck!

Whether you're actively producing them or not, I just want to comment on the work. As a new forum member, it's the first retrofit I've seen on a 3rd gen and while there may be others doing similar retrofits, your fit and finish seems spot on.
