I replaced my 1999 OEM steering rack a few weeks back, thinking it was probably worn out. Well, the new OEM rack is in, and the steering feels remarkably the same. Oh well, at least I have all new parts in there...good for another 160K.
So I have an OEM rack with about 160K on it, that didn't leak when I took it out, but it's far from perfect. It DOES have a fairly new inner tie rod (driver side, with about 20K on it), and the "updated" rack guide. No bushings, no outer tie rods. One of the bellows is torn, small hole. Passenger side inner tie rod end is a little loose, but probably still serviceable.
Price: $10 + actual shipping. I'll ship it UPS from zip code 53590. 35 pounds.
Thanks!
