I was talking about this the other day with my buddy Seydzh [MENTION=174573]krutoydiesel[/MENTION] .

I was planning on it, but I've got a previous engagement I've already planned to be at that I can't miss.

Maybe we can do another one sometime in the spring. Hopefully my Addicted Offroad bumper will show up by then (week 13 and nothing...). That way I can roll up on my 4runner.

Yeah, we will most likely have another party in the spring and then another one sometime in the summer.

Durobumps Installation on a 3rd Gen 4runner

Here's a video showing how to install front and rear aftermarket Durubump bump stops on a 3rd Gen 4runner. Durobumps are far superior to OEM and other aftermarket bump stops due to the rubber compound they use. The rubber actually offers nice dampening and shock absorption as opposed to others that are a very harsh ride.

Thanks Tim and Sean for another great how-to video, and timely one for me too...

I communicated with Curtis a couple days ago about these offerings for us. I will do all three. He's quite nice and very helpful also. Our Community is chock-full of talent!

Yeah, it was a good time. We had a little over 30 in attendance. There were quite a few new faces at this party. I keep on thinking we'll finally get to that max number of 50 attendees but it hasn't happened yet. However, this was the best attendance we've seen so far.

We shot an intro video for our channel using all of the people there in attendance and we raffled off some free stuff. We weren't selling tickets. It was a free raffle. [MENTION=146407]Plastics guy[/MENTION] gave us some bump stops to raffle off and [MENTION=28464]eimkeith[/MENTION] gave us a strut tower reinforcement and limiting strap kit to raffle off.

I would have to say my favorite thing about the party was talking to people who have used our videos and expressed genuine appreciation for us making them. I never get tired of hearing how our videos encourage people to tackle a job on their own. It was a nice to hear such positive comments in person which definitely helps fuel my motivation to keep making more videos with Sean.

No further progress on the P301 code. I did get Greg some new O2 sensor nuts and that stupid little heat shield that's getting in the way of spinning off that one stripped nut. My plan is to cut off the heat shield with my Dremel tool so I can get onto that stripped nut with a pair of vice grips or channel locks and spin it off. We did test the voltage for the pinouts on the ECU for the injectors and got some interesting results. The pins for injectors 2,3,4 and 5 were all at 12. something. The pins for injectors 1 and 6 were 10. something. The FSM says 9-14 is an acceptable range. But, it got me thinking there's something there with the voltage differences. I also want to take a look at all his grounds because maybe it could have something to do with his problem.

ECGS Clamshell CV Axle Bushing Install

If you developed a gnarly vibration in the front end of your lifted 3rd Gen or have been experiencing a loud roaring sound, it could be the excessive play on the driver side of your front differential.

ECGS found a flaw with how the Toyota carriers are made. The spider gear does not have a machined surface inside the carrier to rest against and that causes excessive movement of the spider gear. When you lift your rig and put the CV axle at a more extreme angle, the play within the carrier allows excessive pressure to be put on the needle bearing the CV shaft rides on and that needle bearing was not made to handle that type of load. The result is people can experience a bad vibration and a roaring sound.

ECGS got an idea from ARB that uses a bushing instead of a needle bearing inside the lockers they sell. They decided a fix for the Toyota carriers would be to replace the needle bearing with an oil impregnated bronze bushing to greatly reduce the play the CV shaft has within the carrier. Their idea worked and this is a great fix.

This video shows you how to replace your front differential driver side needle bearing and replace it with the bushing from ECGS.

Steering Play Fix

If you've been trying to diagnose the cause of play in your steering and have run into a dead end figuring it out. It might be play in the main steering shaft. This video documents a well known fix for this problem.

U-Joint Replacement

In this video, we show you how to replace a u-joint on your driveshaft. The vehicle we performed this job on is a 3rd Gen 4runner. The first time we performed this job, we used a balljoint c-press which is one of the common tools used for this job. We found that due to the way the Toyota yokes are shaped, a c-press didn't work that great. We then tried a 2 jaw puller and employed some other techniques that we found worked much better for us.
