Finally took the running boards off after 4 months of ownership. Really happy I did as it looks so much better and hopefully getting my sliders welded on in the next couple of weeks. :flamethrwoer2:

I saw a pic of a member (can't remember who it was) that had painted the door handles and the hood scoop retainer black on his/her thundercloud T4R. I've been thinking about doing that myself. Any opinions on how that might look?

Honestly.. I think it makes it look really tacky.

Just my opinion. I think Thundercloud looks way better. Plenty of other things you can do to accent your paint.

I agree COB, I really like the TC even moreso than my milennium silver, but i've been thinking about this whole black/silver theme i've got going on and was just thinking of different ways to accent it. Here's a pic of the member I was talking about (dnbprofessor)

I see.

One thing I noticed in your photo is that you don't have a roof rack or filler strips. A factory rack or a basket in black would do the top justice, I think.

Also, if you're going for offroad orient, you could always get some black rock sliders.

Other suggestions that I plan for my car that are 4Runner applicable (I have Mercedes, go figure that it's silver lol) are black headlights/projectors, black emblems, darker tint, and a carbon fiber lip spoiler (you can always put a factory black spoiler on, I can't tell if you have one or not).

You might also be happier if you switched your tires to black sidewall, though your tire's lettering doesn't stand out that much.


Idk, I feel like black door handles, mirrors, or whatever, would be a step backwards. I had black mirrors and door handles and I was ecstatic to get rid of them for color matched ones.

It's in the plans, just not exactly sure what i'm going to do to replace ol' fatlip just yet, but i'll figure out exactly what I want one of these days.
