Glocks are definitely not overrated. Overpriced is a subjective term. With a law enforcement discount, they are relatively cheap. I don't see how you can say Glocks are overpriced, and still like H&K. H&K's used to be my favorite until I discovered Glock. I used to own a Springfield XD 9mm, Kimber .45, and an H&K USP .40. Once I bought a Glock and owned it for a while, I ended up selling those other 3 and buying an AR15 and some other things. Say what you want, but I think Glock handguns are spectacular weapon systems and extremely reliable. I also think the Smith & Wesson M&P's are pretty legit too.
I think we can both agree that those Beretta's are pieces of work though.....

i dont have anything bad to say about glocks, they are a great pistol, i just think they think they have a name (which they do), and they are charging a premium for it... tell me what features does the glock have the the xd does not? why can i go down and buy a xd for $100 less than a glock? they both have out standing durability, and excellent craftsmanship and work well in harsh or dare i say abusive conditions... yeah with my LEO credentials i can buy the glock for the same price as the xd, but still glock is using is name and reputation to ask $100 more on average to the everyday consumer(if you can call a firearms purchaser that lol) of their product. i will probably one day soon buy a glock, but it wont be new unless i get a killer deal on it. but most of the deputies i have worked with around here are using 1911s so it makes thinks much easier to keep compatibility for mag swaps with backup or support ect. but i do know a lot of departments issue glocks for the same reasons as stated.
bottom line at the end of the day it wont matter what you paid for it, $300 or $1300, they will still kill you dead all the same, you will still bleed out like a stuck hog.
yeah H&K are a little pricy but they have a lot of features that you cant find in cheaper pistols. im also a big WC fan too but thats getting into another realm all together.

I'm not a fan of tube bumpers at all...but yours looks pretty sweet.

Near the top of Poughkeepsie gulch, reminds me of how I envisioned the Shire.
I think this was coming down from Cinnamon pass towards the east
Sitting on top of a mine shaft
Airing up back on the highway.
This was my first real off road trip. Ouray was fantastic, definitely need to go back again. Poughkeepsie gulch was way more difficult than I was ready for on my first trip out, alone. Glad I made it thru with no major damage, just broke a weld loose on one of the camber adjustment cams. I didn't have time to run Imogene Pass, explore any mines, ride a cable car up the mountain or a train, do some hiking in the tundra.....
Lots to get to next time. Great trip!
