I can see where the 295s may have rubbed for the previous owner when they had more tread. I got more rub on the flare attached to the bumper. As far as the 285s, no rub unless I am doing a fast u-turn at full lock, then body roll pushed the flare into the tire

But no rubbing on the UCA (upper control arms)?

I had to swap my tires from my 1997 to my 2002 because the tires on the 2002 were getting bulges on the side wall and I am driving to San Diego this week end. Looks sweet.



Unfortunately my 1997 is really upset with me right now. I'll just have to make it up when I get back from San Diego. 35s and beadlocks to come.

Looks less than desirable right now.

What made you go with the Tundra? I've had an 04 Access Cab TRD and an 08 Limited Crew. I want one again.

The Tundra is NOT the 4Runner's replacement. I needed a "full-size" truck for work and get paid a decent vehicle allowance every month. I wanted something newer but I got REALLY lucky and found a local, fully dealer serviced, all maintenance records, no accidents, MINT 04' Limited Tundra. It's got around 100K miles which is higher than I wanted but I know this thing has had every oil change and service at it's intervals. It's getting SCS wheels, some 32" tires, Bilstein leveling kit, and a Softopper in the near future. I'll post some pics in my build thread when I can. I really like the 4.7L motor and have already been having thought of bobbing the bed and doing 35's and LT to it one day.... wicked plans that may never come to fruition but it would be damn cool.

Updated pic. Replaced the crappy mickey Thompson MTZs with Bfgs and put some Bilstein 5125s out back. Re doing the front end soon. This damn thing is eating my jeep money. Hahah.

New member and 1st time owner

Here are some pics of my 98' SR5. I purchased in Sept 2012. Since I've had it I've had to replace the catalytic converter after it was sawed off and stolen in front of my house. It now has a "catclamp" on it. I've replaced the chrome front bumper and installed a Hunter bull bar to offer some protection to the bumper. I love the 3rd gen 4-runners and have not regretted my purchase.
