Here's my runner with smoke from the 30,000 acre Powerhouse Fire in the Angeles National Forest. It's heading toward the Sawmill Mountain area where my avatar pic was taken. :sad:

Quick pic after the rear suspension upgrade. Changed out the OME 890's and OME Nitrocharger Sport Shocks for Superflex coils, 10mm spacers and Bilstein 5100 shocks.

How do you like the ride with the new suspension?

What did you use to get the undercarriage so clean? How much rust was there before you did anything to it? I have minor surface rust all over my undercarriage. It's very minor, but I'd like to deal with it before it gets bad

I just used a light degreaser, old socks, and elbow grease but living in a desert (Southern California) helps a lot. The entire frame was practically rust free already; there are spray cans of rust converter/protector available if you are willing to put down some preventative coats.

Waiting for my used, but working, throttle body/iac/tps combo to arrive from a seller on ebay. Psyched to get my 'Runner working properly again. I plan on exploring fire and forest trail roads in central Montana when I'm done working on my 'runner. A guy I work with owns an old Army deuce-and-a-half with oversized tires and he got his ass stuck yesterday in some nasty mud near where I was going to go......maybe I shouldn't go there.

How do you like the ride with the new suspension?

It rides 100x better with the new Billies/Superflex than with the OME shocks/springs. With the OME's the ride was as stiff as a brick but it's very comfortable now.

Did your fuel light flash when it came that close to empty or just stay a solid light?? I have heard4d that it will flash if your really really low on fuel!?!?

My truck did good it didn't let me down or disappoint me at all but my stock skid plates got beat up tho lol and Chris truck walked over most the obstacles i did and we by pass some areas where i thought me and chris would of had a chance of making it but we was in a hurry to find a camp before dark but the soup bowl i know i couldnt have made it chris either since hes open up front but over all it i had a blast n am very happy with my runner cuz we made it thru the whole trail:thumb3:

Thats what i like about the BFL is that not many people know what it is. :gun6:

I usually tell people it's a sprocket thingy that my kid put on there because he's into BMX. I don't even have kids lol... But you never know how people are going to react to big scary guns these days.

Yes, it does flash, but only if the needle physically goes all the way down.

Mine did that when the fuel gauge stopped functioning correctly. The only thing about it is that gas gauge needle on these trucks don't seem to go down that low on the gauge, even when completely empty.

I've seen the flashing and I'm a believer
