just picked up my 99 SR5, 3.4, 5speed bone stock this week for under $5000. I've owned a bunch of 1st and 2nd Gen runners but this is my first 3rd gen. and So far I've only put one tank of gas through it and I love it.

Gonna get the typical stuff I've been reading about on here the last couple of days. Sonoran Steel 1.2, 1.5BL, 4.88's and 35's. Nothing to hardcore, I've got an 85 rolling on 39.5 pittbull rockers for that:guitar3:

I've gotta sell some stuff. I have been collecting some stuff to do a SAS and Rear spring swap with a 5.0HO conversion in a 94 runner i have. but now with the purchase of the 99 the wife and I decided to sell the 94 and the trail gear springs, crossover steering and some other parts. it should just about cover all the mods to the 99:banana:

honestly the 94 is our 2nd, 2nd gen. my wife had a 92 and loved it. but after re welding the upper control arm brackets a bunch of times we sold it and got her a corolla since we were expecting our first child. So I bought the 94 with a blown motor and was planning to build it for a family wheeler. it was going to have a rear spring swap, SAS and a 5.0HO motor Swap. It would have been sweet but after the project had been stalled for almost a year because of a newborn son and work that is a little out of control, I decided it was going to be easier to find a 3rd gen and do some little stuff. This 99 really fell into my lap, I looked all over the country for a 99 with a 3.4 and a 5speed, turned out that this one was less than a hundred miles away and the dealer didn't really know what he had, $4400 later it was mine. :surfer: So far I am committed to not doing a SAS or engine swap or even dual cases on the 99. Honestly that will last a while and I will give in to my genetic disposition of tearing stuff up and trying to put it back together. LOL I love that the 99 is just a hair bigger inside and the 3.4 has enough power for now, it's no 5.0 but its way nicer than the 3.slow

Thanks G_T. There has been quite a few changes here recently. Yeah there should be a trip to Harlan next month and possibly a run a little closer to home before that.

A 2wd??

I think selling that 2wd 4cyl and going to a V6 4wd you would be money ahead if your are going to start getting into all that stuff.

Boo! I went wheeling yesterday, then picked up someone form the airport that night and on the way back I hit some glass in the middle of an intersection(didnt see it twas nighttime) then I walk out to this this morning.
