Yeah ol boy i bought the runner from had the guard laying around and gave it to me & install for free, THEN told me it was for the 98' model. i been lookin at sellin it & gettin a bull bar instead. thanks for the feedback.

i see yeah you should sell in on craigslist, because shipping for that is gonna be ridiculous, and bull bars are overrated, if i was u i rather take the stocker off sell it and with all the money you got from selling the brush guard and the stock bumper i would get a tube bumper. just my .2$

All 3rd Gen brush guards are the same.

I wouldn't spend the money on a tube bumper unless you really like the look.

not true there is one for fat lip and there is one for the flat face. many company makes different brush guards for 4runner, some heavy duty some not, but doesnt matter what kind you get they all pretty much useless.

not to mention the damage to ur hood, lights, bumper and side panel if you get hit with brush guard on.

or without getting hit, mine has rubbed the stock plastic bumper behind it to make little marks. i dont mind and i dont plan on taking it off cause it looks good. but my friends pathfinder has a full brush guard and on the outside of his headlights there are paint chips and small dents from just vibration and the guard getting into it

Compound M105
Swirl R. Menzerna Nano polish
Sealed with Menzerna
Wax Pinnacle Sig II liquid wax
Wheels cleaned with soap N water and a Daytona speed brush
Wheels waxed with CG wheel guard
Tires shined with CG gel
wheel wells coated with CG bare bones

What did you use for your chrome? I have those little rust colored spots and haven't found anything to completely get rid of them. Look at her shine!

X2 on that clean machine. I don't know what he used on the chrome but I'm stuck on NEVR DULL. My old Galaxie probably has over 500lbs of chrome, it's everywhere and this is the stuff that makes her shine. takes care of the little rust spots too.

But on to new pics. I like this creek, there's no way any big trucks are making through w/o a chainsaw but the Runner was easy to navigate between the tight spots. Water crept in the doors in some place but for the most part the extra 3" kept us high and dry. It opened up to this really nice clear water pond.

CG's metal polish. I have yet to deal with those spots thank god.

Looks slick man. In fact since I got my new paint job and now saw your detailed picture I made an appointment Tuesday to get mine done as well.

Yes. The best way to fix that is to remove the running boards. :banana:

Lol, I second spongerx's solution! Kylejo, you'll find most members here on the forums' prefer no running boards....we're always telling people to take them off.


Best place to find that trim is going to be a JY. Or a dealership that has a good parts guy.

No harm! I figured as much by looking around. Ive got little kids and dont do any serious off-roading so they are a bit practical for now. Im headed to the JY's in Anchorage next week. No palin jokes please, you can have her!!!
