First things first. I'm gonna get a set of digital-fit Weathertech floor liners for the front. My interior is Grey. So should I get Black liners or Grey liners? I really cannot decide.



Now back to business.
I'm working on getting a few things done. LED tails and mostly everything else on my waiting list (in my sig) will be going in during the next few days.

Here is the new LED tail lights, the lens tint came out darker than I hoped. Ill fix that in a few days. Next is the white LEDs inside, move CB to ashtray, start on the field monitor and taco antenna.


Teaser for now, more in a few days.

looks good man keep us posted on those LED tails im trying to decide which ones i wanna get. are you going to clearcoat them to get a gloss look?

I ended up getting the ones with black housing and clear lens. The lens tint I did myself just came out a bit too dark. On Sunday I am going to take them back off, sandpaper the top layer of lens tint, then finally apply the clear coat. Also working on wiring the LED 3rd, didn't come pre-wired.

I didn't get clear coat on when I smoked them, it was late so I called it a night.

I'd go with the grey - I have a grey interior in my Tundra and went with the grey mats. Just my preference. The black would have stood out against the carpet, but would have matched the dash...

Flip a coin, it's a hard call. Let me know if you want pictures of my grey mat set up.

I say go with the black WeatherTech's. The black stands out & looks really good. Plus if you ever have to sell them, they'll match every potential buyer's interior--black goes with everything! We have black ones in our 4th gen & everyone that sees them likes 'em a lot! Just my 0.02 ...

BLACK... All the way! The black on grey looks awesome in my opinion and the contrast makes the interior really pop.

Those OEM mats are the ones I have, they suck. Also, that guy's build was my inspiration to get the 02 sport in the first place. Pretty sure I have most of his thread memorized by now.

I completely agree! The tranny cooler install has me a bit intimidated, I have an analog gauge to install for it too.

That's not a bad deal at all on the WT's. I got mine directly off WT's site and they were offering the best deal I could find at the time. Also, Rockslide did do a very nice build, didn't he?

Let me know on the trans cooler/gauge man. I'd be glad to help you out with that. I've done two of them now, so I'm pretty familiar with everything. I've got March 7th-20th off work... gonna be fishing most of the week of the 7th-13th, but the 14-20 is wide open right now. Send me a PM.

PS... You need a build thread on here. I've seen the one on YT, just copy and paste that ish.

Here are some "before" pics of my new ride. Running boards come off today and Weathertech digital fit liners are on order. I'll probably take the front hood protector off, too. Maybe put 3M protector on. New tires to come before next winter.

Bigfishallday, I'm sorry. When I wrote 'mine' I meant on my vehicle, not my idea or thread. I did not intend to imply that it was me that posted it originally. I could not remember those specific people out there who helped me by posting it or who kept writing about it. I just wanted to add my version of other forum members' input on the topic. Yes, I did add my own photos of the process, but the idea was not mine.

So, I appreciate the help from others and the fact that the remote tranny cooler thread had been started in the first place or I would have had a costly repair bill because the two fluids (trans and coolant/antifreeze) would have mixed together.

It's not like it was my genius idea either... I borrowed alot of material from the threads I linked to in the write-up. I think you added some good material to the thread too, and when it comes to info and pictures the more the better I say.

Always loved the Toyota 4-Runner and finally got one.

It is a 1999 SR5, Automatic 3.4L V6, with 120,000 miles on it.

I've only done a few things to it thus far, as I just recently got it.

I've put in some 85/80 headlights in, put in my sound system, including 4 Rockford Fosgate speakers, 2 Rockford Fosgate Punch P1 12" Subs, a Rockford fosgate Amp, and a JVC Deck.

Next on the list I'd like to tint the windows 15-20%, and add a bully bar. Then somewhere down the road, new wheels and tires.

Let me know what you think.

Any suggested things to do to the new 4-runner? Any suggested bully bars for sure.

I'll post more pictures later.
