Yo Fellas

I know this isn't the new member introductions...But I'll introduce myself anyway. I've been a lurker for a few months. I joined to get some gouge on what 3rd gen I wanted to get. I ended up with a limited 2000 with rear locker had 97K when I bought it. Really clean, inside and out. It was a Georgia runner that I bought in Connecticut June 1st, then stayed in NH for a bit. It brought me down to Florida, and now we are in Texas.
Before I left NH put a front brush guard on it so I had somewhere to mount my Hellas, stayed stock till I got to FL in july. bought the sonoran steel 1.2A at the end of my stay in FL so I could pull my 3,000lb 6x10 to texas. could't be happier with the ride quality. Yeah its got 265/70/16's on it... I'm hesitant to go much bigger just yet. Going from FL to TX it had a hard time pulling 3,000 lbs at 70mph (southern speed limits). And I really don't want to re-gear it.
Unfortunately I can't do much work on it cause I need it for work everyday, so unless I bought another car or rented, week days are off-limits and weekends are spent studying...Incase you were wondering why I move so much and why i'm so busy, I'm a SNA going thru flight training for the Navy.

Not to get too far off track...Part of the reason why I need to tow so much is because I ride. So for those of you interest in what I ride, its a 74 cb550 I built this past winter. I bought 2, with some patience, elbow grease and some tools, I ended up with what you see. My version of a dirt-track/cafe racer type thing. I've owned other bikes but this is the current one...

Just added the 2.5 inch daystar spacer lift, Monroe shocks all around and 285/75-16 goodyear wrangler dura trecs all around. Just gotta install my toytec diff drop sometime this week. Can't wait to hit the trails!

Looks good Slow. I'll keep my eye out around town to see it in person. I recently bought a green '97 with the clear peeling off the wheels at the beginning of August. If only mine were white or silver. Can't wait to get mine worthy of wheeling in some of the spots around here.

You've got the same set up I used to have. After wheeling it a few times I switched out the rear spacers for OME 891 and I'm in the process of saving up to switch my Monroe's for Bilstein's. I bet you'll end up doing the same. Anytime I go over speed bumps or big rocks my front end suspension sounds like someone is hitting it with a hammer! I hate the thing.

It will probably be a couple of months before the Bilsteins happen since I just bought the Outdoor Logic rear swing-out bumper. Should arrive Monday, can't wait. :trophy:

Well the deed is DONE. I took her to the chop shop and did some trimming and banging of the pinch welds until it didn't make anymore contact with the tires, but I still get some rubbing from time to time depending on the load. Once I get the Toyotec Ultimate Lift with 1" BL I should be O.K.. We'll see, eventually I plan on moving to 35's like my jeep and moving the jeep to 37s. It's a work inprogress.
