To answer everyone's question I was in 4 Lo with my rear locker engaged. He was 2wd Tow mode. I knew I would drag him and I only did it to deflate his head some. More power actually getting to the ground>any vehicle not doing so. Love these vehicles

Why sell?

I can't tell you guys how badly I want to sell my taco and get a third gen. When I was five I saw a Toyota commercial with a green 3rd gen romping through some mud and I've wanted one ever since. Just saw a clean green lifted runner with meats on it and its sparked my desire again :/.

Just make a third genner a second vehicle. Keep your taco. I'm looking to get a 1st gen taco, but the 2001-2004 (face lifted) one. 4 door 4wd.

This is not my 4Runner, and I do not have any affiliation with the guy who does the "New Mexico Backroads" blog. I just stumbled upon this link and his website recently and have been spending a ton of time rummaging through his journals and photos. Some amazing photos and stories that are nothing but inspirational.... truly defines why I love my Yota and spend every chance I get, exploring the roads less traveled.

This is not my 4Runner, and I do not have any affiliation with the guy who does the "New Mexico Backroads" blog. I just stumbled upon this link and his website recently and have been spending a ton of time rummaging through his journals and photos. Some amazing photos and stories that are nothing but inspirational.... truly defines why I love my Yota and spend every chance I get, exploring the roads less traveled.

Hell yeah thats good stuff. I think I just saw this Runner featured on the cover of one of the last issues of Toyota four wheel drive owners magazine.

Also that train in some of those pictures is called the Cumbres & Toltec, and its one of the oldest continuously running narrow-gauge steam trains in the country. It actually goes up into CO, and then back down into NM. I worked with one of their senior engineers when I was working for the Santa Fe Southern. Its funny how stuff you know about can just pop up in another part of your life that's not connected at all.

i love them too. would love to pick me up a 97 or 98 for a trail rig when i can afford one in a few years
