Oh Baby!! A lotus that even with a Toyota 1.8L engine (From the Celica) produces a ton of power and plenty fast (See: power to weight ratio). Definitely puts a smile on my face!!!! :hungry:

Bumper and valance are done...

Finally, I've had enough time (Veterans' Day weekend is a four day for us sad sacks in the Army ) to complete my paint job on the bumper and valance. Opinions are welcome good, bad, or indifferent.
Last night after sanding the nasty paint the autobody shop put on my bumper I used this etching primer to prime the bumper this morning.

Here, I used a 5/16" drill bit (general use, not specific to metal) to drill out the holes for my new hardware mating the valance to the lower part of the metal bumper. There are eight holes that had to be drilled out. I won't show them all.

When I received my 'Runner back from the autobody shop I noticed the new replacement bumper mounts were leaving too much of a gap from below the 'bumper filler' and blackened grille to the top of the bumper as it was mounted. I took it upon myself to guesstimate that drilling four new holes 1/2" above the original new mount bracket holes for the bumper lugs would suffice to literally bring the bumper up half of an inch to an original-looking distance. It was.

I chose the color because it is outside the realm of the norm and thanks for the comment. I think even after I get an upgraded hard shrockworks or ARB-style bumper, I might throw the same green on that too.

As a matter of fact, I do want to do the whole body this green, but the wife might throw up the wall on that one. She'll approve of black. I might have to compromise somehow. I want green.

I'm a novice in this department. I know you cut holes in the valance, but how are they mounted/trimmed. How do they get power? Separate switch or connected with headlight switch?
