wait so can you do a uni-chip on a 3rd generation runner, if so what are the cost and what are the actual HP gains, i thought chips didnt do much improvement for the cost...?

Depends on the system. some just alter maf signals to adjust the a/f ratio. those make small gains, others like standalone ems's that have full control over the engine make even more gains as they deal with fuel trims, spark timing, etc. If I were you I would get a mapecu2 or the new 3, a AEM ems. Those you can tune yourself. Also a engine oil cooler (EOC) is a good invest plus gauges.

My brother's truck was tuned over here at Split Second which isn't too far from my dealership. I'll go there if I want it seriously tuned later.

So Split Second is a tuning shop? That's the name of the Fuel/Timing Calibrator that came with my SC. I must Google them.
