Intermittent extreme bogging down from a dead stop,no cel. once its past about 2500 rpms it wakes up. only mods are custom intake with k/n filter/stock box,tacoma mini header,magnaflow cat and jba exhaust. any thoughts?

try doing a tune up, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter, adjust valves, o2 sensor,
kinda sounds like o2 sensor issue but thats a shot in the dark

Has relatively new ngk plugs and wires. No cap or rotor as it's two coils.fuel filter had been replaced with in the last year , o2 s are new denso. It doesn't happen all the time, just seems after its been running a while and during extreme heat here in Florida

Try cleaning your MAF sensor, sometimes the oil from a K and N style filter will flow back thru the intake and fowl them.

Yes will clean again but do clean regularly. Too my knowledge its the original maf as I have owned it for 7years and have not replaced it.

This is the truth. I went to an amsoil because of this fact. Never had a problem since.

Same here, I run a dry Spectre drop in, in the stock air box to avoid that.

Howzit guys,
Finally got the Surf in from Japan. It was a nightmare ... but she is now registered in my name and parked on the drive all legal.
Spent 13 days so far sun up to sun down detailing her and she had come up nice and clean.
Yet to clean up the 3RZ but that will come soon enough. At 75000kms on the clock she is clean and tidy and virtually completely rust free. This will be our family car for the next 20 years at least so I am pleased I started with a good one.
I have spent some hours already searching for service info - Toyota part numbers for filters, recommended oil grades etc and I am not sure if it is because of not having tapatalk on my phone that I can't seem to open and view quite a few links I have researched ....
Can someone point me in the right direction please where I can view a link with info in for the service part numbers for genuine toyota service parts such as oil filter, UBJ, LBJ plus tge bolts, spark plugs etc.

Reason why I want part numbers is because on Thursday I will do the 3 and half hour drive to buy groceries and there is a Toyota dealer there.
What they dont have on the shelf I will have to place an order for. Normally a 6 week turn about time.
We get to town about 0730hrs and I like to leave by 1230hrs to miss the late afternoon drive home. It is very dangerouse to travel late afternoon here .... so as much as I would like to spend some time finding out things from the Toyota Dealer I will be pushed for time to get 6 weeks worth of supplies and be out of town in good time.
Part numbers will save a lot. They dont have a website ... they dont exist in these parts and to try by phone is a jungle as they will not speak english and my Portuguise sucks a lot.

Rear axle third members for 3rd gens; Are they all the same, v6 and 4cyl, or are our rear axles like the earlier models that have a different chunk for v6 vs 4cyl?

He's talking about the baffles to remove noise from the exhaust.
Intakes on the 4 and 6 cyl are identical except for the maf bit if I am not mistaken.

They are the same...
I recently re-geared, and bought my complete 3rd member (and front clamshell) from ECGS. I asked the same question before placing my order, and they assured me they were the same. The built 3rd member slipped right on, bolted up perfectly. No mod's or hassles. Proceed with confidence.

Every 3rd gen open diff is the same apart from the gear sets, older 8" thirds drop right in too, I've got a low pinion 3rd gen pickup diff in my rear axle.
