3vze odometer readings

1. ok the i get inconsistent odometer readings. sometimes when i start the truck odometer says it idles a 0 rpm. i rev up the the engine and the needle seems to move just fine. then sometimes when i start the truck it idles at 500 rpms which is where i think its where its supposed to idle. whats goin on?


2. i smell fumes from the exhaust sometimes. the sound of the engine sounds like a diesel truck

I don't know about the tach problem. But with the smell/sound of the exhuast... Is your cat converter still there? Seems like a stupid question but from personal experience, it does sound like that.

You can't idle at 0 RPM. There's probably a loose connection on your tach wire.

Yeah the catAlytic converter is still there. It actaly stalled out in me tonight. The fumes are coming from the exhaust though
