How are you liking the general grabbers? I have been thinking about getting them for my 4runner. I have a friend that works for general tire and can get me a little bit of a discount. But I haven't heard too much about them.

40,000 miles on them and still going strong. They're not the greatest in real mud, but I'm not a mud lover. I will very likely replace them with another set when the time comes. And you can't argue with the price even without a buddy discount!

No. I thought long and hard about it. As much as I like the look I just didn't think I would use it often enough to justify it. The same applied for a gas can swing out. I got the bumper more for departure angle protection than anything else. The lower parts of the bumper cap already had drag marks on them, and I had already caught and torn off the silver center piece over a year ago. I am looking at adding some non-skid tape to the top of it for more secure footing when I need to get at the roof rack.

Installed my CBI bumper today. About 4 hours start to finish. The rear end only settled about 1/4" so far. Test drive and measure later. Daddy needs a hot soak. :crutch::bathbaby:

Had the day off today so I decided to drive out to Toledo Bend dam and get some pictures, since the ones I've seen for the past couple days have been spectacular. For those who aren't aware the rain this week has raised the lake level to the highest it has ever been since opening in the early 70's. All 9 floodgates have been opened to 22' and the Sabine River area below the dam has been evacuated. Buuuut I couldn't get there..... Most of the roads in the area still have water over parts of them. So I went to Lowes and picked up some non-skid tape to put on the step of the CBI bumper, and then I added a couple decals I couldn't find from trips last year. And yes, I applied 4 strips on the left before I realized my toes could never get that far forward with the hatch closed........ :doh:

On another note, I measured the ride height today after adding the rear bumper with what is my normal full camping load. I still have 1" of rake and the rear end simply feels a little more planted over bumps. So I think I'll be fine with the current setup.

On another note, I measured the ride height today after adding the rear bumper with what is my normal full camping load. I still have 1" of rake and the rear end simply feels a little more planted over bumps. So I think I'll be fine with the current setup.

Curious what the rear height measures out to, from ground to fender and center of wheel to fender if you get a chance. What do you estimate the normal load weighing?

It'll be Sunday before I can check again, but I'll try. I know ground to fender up front is 35.5", and rear is 36.5" on the left "leaned" side. I'm guesstimating 250 - 300 pounds of gear with the rear seats laid down. When I need to use the rear seats the tent, cots, chairs, and assorted other stuff will go up top. Bear in mind I have that 80 pound sliding cargo tray always in there.

I want to say I had 37.5" in the back before I loaded it up a couple weeks ago to go clear a campsite, and I just haven't downloaded it yet because I have one or 2 more trips to finish the site.

What part of the state do you hail from? We're on high ground, so other than some runoff from the road we're usually fine.

Up in Lincoln Parish. This area normally stays pretty dry but 15-20 inches of rain caused has caused historical flooding.

Some pics from Lone Star Jamboree a couple weeks ago. The new rear bumper did its job for me more than a couple times! 60 miles of trails over 3 days but I didn't get a lot of pictures.

My little back in campsite. Yes, the sign is upside down. I moved it because I was worried I would catch the roof rack on it as I had to swing close to that tree when pulling out.
