4.7 Timing Belt, Removed Lots Of Stuff

I was wondering how much stuff do I have to remove before changing the timing belt on my 2003 Sport 4.7 liter V8?
So far I have removed the radiator, evaporator, transmission cooler, power steering pump & lines, headlights, bumper cover, bumper brace, battery, windshield washer reservoir, and all the wiring. I have even drilled the 46 spot welds on the brace that goes across the front of the radiator. I think I have a pretty clear shot at getting to the timing belt now!

Wow, lots of work removing that stuff but now you have a nice clear path to get to the belt and water pump.

How many miles does your 4Runner have?

I'm extremely confused you took so much stuff off? All you really need to remove to have room is the fan and fan shroud...:noidea:
I really don't get it....I didn't even pull half of that stuff to swap the entire motor.

You do not have to remove the radiator, evaporator, brace, bumper, lights or any of those things to replace the timing belt. Search this forum for how to do it properly.

lol facepalm!! The tbelt, water pump, and plugs is about a 3-4 hour job! The only thing you need to pull is the fan and fan shroud to gain access to the front of the motor.

Wow. That's WAY too much stuff! When I did my friends 4.7 the only thing I removed was the fan, fan shroud and skid plate. The ac compressor as a whole was unbolted from motor. Everything else was left on the motor.

But I guess if you want a straight shot at the timing belt all those other stuff has to come out.

Yes late April fools for sure. The clue is in my signature. This is my #3 2003 that I purchased with front end damage. It has 108,000 and since I had it stripped so far I thought it would be the perfect time to change the belt. Good thing too the water pump bearing and seal where shot. The last belt I changed was the engine from #1 while it was on the floor before it went into #2. So I have yet to change on the normal way. Hopefully next time!

I do have a twisted sense of humor!
