ok so i found a full 4 inch suspension lift for $100 and right now im running 33's with almost full tread on them. love the look right now. alittle more lift would be nice, anyways.... i do plan on getting 35's when these tires wear out. i looked around on google and couldnt find any good pictures of 4runners with the 4 inch lift and 33's. anyone running this set up? thoughts, opinions???

I smell something fishy...

I would be extremely suspicious of any lift kit for only $100--actually, I would run away immediately. Is this from a friend or someone you know? 4" lifts with 33's is a common lift combination. Don't forget gearing, too--they go hand-in-hand, especially with the limited torque of smaller truck engines. Sounds too good to be true--which far more often than not IS the case.

this is a pro comp lift. just the front with no shocks. it has the bump stop extensions. i looked it up and it is between 1000 and 1200 new with shocks and rear blocks. im going to go look at it Saturday with a picture of the brand new lift and make sure it has all parts and pieces. he got the truck for 300 bucks from a friend and did an SAS to it. between the parts he took off and the lift he just made his money back. and i already have 4.88's in my truck with a rebuilt motor and has LOT of power compared to the old motor.

There are pics of my runner wearing both 33's and 35's with a 4" lift up front with 5" in the rear. I personally thought that the 4-5" lift dwarfed the 33" tires. I wanted bigger tires anyways but the 33's just looked small with that much lift. Eventually I'll get some 37 or 36.5 irok's but that is after I do my SAS. I don't think the IFS will like tires that big, even now the IFS scares me while off road with the 35's I think the only reason I'm not breaking stuff is because the diff is open.

IF you only want to step up to 33's I wouldn't lift anymore than 2-3 inches.

i already have 33's with no lift lol im not worried about fitting tires in there. this was a good deal so i couldnt pass it up. im going to look at it today and if it has everything i will get it. wait until my 33's go bald and buy 35's and then put the lift on... i think... haha

This is what a 4" SAS lift with 35's looks like. I realize you're talking about an IFS, but the spacing should be similar. Plenty of room for your bigger tires.

well the lift today was a bust.... guy had all the drop brackets and stering knuckles but the plates that actually drop the diff wernt there. i could have made them BUT that woulda been another $20 in steal, not to mention new shocks all around, then on top of that getting a lift for the rear.

i figured if i did all that i would be in maybe.... $600 ish? still half the price of a new lift out of the box. BUT THEN i thought about it and the 33's did look kinda small with the 4 inch lift, in turn making me want to find a set of 35's....

has anyone ever read "if you give a moose a muffin"? yup... i figure it would be best not to give the damn moose anything so that way he can just go along with his moose things that were just fine to begin with.

thanks to everyone one who helped me out!

and Hyde802!!! was all of the trimming that was done to your yota truck nessisary to fit the 35's? or was there rust of some kind? 35's with no lift looks pretty damn sweet.... interesting idea for the future.... hahaha thanks alot... :-D

hey man, if your still looking for a cheap front/rear lift, Rough Country has a 5" system that is the cheapest suspension lift I've seen around.. after shipping and a steering stabilizer, it cost me about $800. Just a suggestion.

I cut about 3" off my fenders. You could probably get away with less. The real clearance issue is with the firewall. Mines just hammered. hard. Dont forget to move the computer from behind the pass kick panel before you start hammering. Best thing to do would be to cut the corner off and re-weld metal on there, "tubing".

Also, I think its a little easier to fit them on this Gen than on yours.

Mine also still rub a little.

Basically, put the tires on, and cut where ever they rub.

well i guess we will see in a few years how that goes. my 33's are in great shape but i love the look of the lower to the ground trucks with big tires. future project will be fun

the 87 in my avatar only has the torsion bars barely bumped up with the zuk mod in the rear fits 33 1050 15 with ease. no rubs and does good on highway with locker in rear. i run bfg km2s 8 ply. i get around 15 mpg around town.
