4RNEWBIE's "build" and travels...

I recently bought a leftover 2015 TEP(KDSS) with the only dealer option being premium carpet floormats. It had 416 miles on it.

I bought and installed 6112/5160 combo with 2" Icon rear springs and Dirt King UCAs. During the install a rear ABS & speed sensor wires had snapped inside its insulation. Had the wires soldered and most of the idiot lights went out, but the 4WD light remained on, the next day it disappeared. Bought a new rear harness and replaced it anyway.

The week everything was being installed, my 2 weeks off was approved. I had talked about going to Colorado and Utah. The girl I was dating said she did not want to camp, so I took my dog and my long time friend as co-pilots. He took all the 4Runner photos on the trip and did whatever editing there is to the pix.

I enjoyed the 4R and the trip. Still awaiting my C4Fab sliders. Also thinking of SSS slimline front bumper and winch as future mods.

and 7 days later on the way home...He refused to sleep in the 4R, he had been up over 24hrs when this was taken.




3500 miles in 7 days....Will do it again, but with a lot more planning...

Definitely going back. Another friend and I are talking about going back to Moab in October for a mountain bike excursion, and Im sure some 4Runner time.
