4runner 2006 factory skid plate

Anyone confirm this? I did think it looked a little flimsy on the mounting brackets for a serious offroad part. Just Bling?

I am not sure either. The manager said 4Runner already have the skid piece for offroad ride... And the accessory skid plate is just for look~

Well he's corret in as much as the Runners do come with a protection plate under the engine but its not a heavy duty item. I've had to pull mine off several times and hammer it back into shape. It does bend if you run into rocks. No good if your sliding across a rock and want to be sure of full protection. Ok if you want some protection in light offroad.

I went to Chicago that evening for our 1 year anniversary and just returned. It is decent for the money. I had the stealership do it as it was time for an oil change. They charged me 15 minutes of labor for the job. It will protect the radiator from sticks and other intrusions. I'll take pics tonight!!

I installed mine last night. The "skid plate" itself is identical to the one found on older tacos. It will add minimial protection for true wheeling but it sure does look good.

FYI: My local dealer had them in stock @ $125.

...however, I am missing one of the M12 fine thread bolts. I am a little ticked, I guess I'll be making a trip to the local hardware store.

I'll post a pic too once I get it on the runner.

btw: got it for $117 from the stealership.

I don't think there is going to be a group buy. But Partznet has the best price so far.
