i thought that GMC Terrain would be a competitor to the T4R or is it competing with the RAV4?

Another option if you want a SUV with a decent 3rd row that is around the same size as the Acadia is the Mazda CX-9
Wasn't going to hop in till you showed that Tempsho...just came out of that vehicle. I loved it. In the running when I got it last year was the Arcadia and the Outlook. This was my final rundown.
All have Unibody construction, which transfers into a nice ride.
The Mazda (I had the Grand Touring AWD) was without a doubt the leader in handling and ride comfort, more of a car like ride. All these vehicles weigh a few hundred pounds of each other but the Mazda handles like a sports car.
The GMC and Saturn rode well, but seemed laggy and lumbering compared to CX9..I'll describe it as somewhat truck like.
I liked the fit and finish of the Saturn over the GMC.
The Mazda styling (IMHO), and the combination of interior materials used was light years ahead of of the American made rivals.
When the GMC/Saturn back area seats were folded down, that created a FLAT platform, and was VERY roomy...much more condusive to sliding in large boxes or sleeping in, say for camping. The Mazda did not fold flat and that was always a bone of contention with me.
The third seat would only be usable by children in the GMC/Saturn...the 3rd seat in the Mazda would fit me(6'-290lbs), although I wouldn't want to go to Florida back there.
Traded in my Mazda for my 4Runner Trail. I had 22,000 on the Mazda and did not have one complaint, of course when climbing in the Trail I never looked back. It's nice to back into a truck again

The GMC Terrain and its Chevy twin, Equinox, are small crossovers that compete with the RAV4.
The Buick Enclave would also be in that list. Out of the four (soon to be three without Saturn), I like the Enclave the best. I saw one driving in to work this morning and thought it looked very upscale.
The main reason I wouldn't buy one? Too big for me. I believe the Enclave is just over 200 inches, which makes it about 10 inches longer than Toyota's trio (4Runner/Highlander/Venza).
With the 2010 Lacrosse and Enclave, Buick has actually gotten my attention. Thought I'd be at least 65 before that would happen.
