Had the rear tire hanging 4" off the ground and brake lines had tons of slack and the spring was nowhere near falling out...these links must make a HUGE difference!

When we were discussing making some we weren't sure what ends to use. How did you decide on Heims?

Well thanks for all the feedback. I got mine in today, and Brian came by and we got his all made up and installed as well. Liny- These do make a big difference, rubber bushings can only flex so far before it binds. I can not even come close to maxing my heims out.
Driffter- I hope these keep me busy. I love making them, and they will out preform any thing out there.
Gerdo- Well I have done some research, and heims are the only true good option, when you think of performance, cost (which is a big factor to me), and ease of install. So what it comes down to is 1 Heims offer really good resistance free flex. A johnny joint may have a little more, but this just brings me to the second point COST. Heims are a good trade off of performance and cost. Bushings are cheap and they dont have any flex without resistance, and the flex they have is small. Johnny joints are really expensive so they were out of the picture. Heims are also easy to install compared to bushings where the measurements of the tubing must be exact, and then you need to notch them correctly.
I order my heims fro Ruffstuffspecialties.com They have great prices.
And also if you want to do a rubber bushing on one side , Dont!. It will cause all of your flex to come from the one heim, since it has no resistance to flexing. Thus causing it to wear out much faster.

They wouldn't affect handling in any bad way, they make the rear feel more solid if anything. Right now we are still doing r&d on these so at this point I would say yes, they would be fine on a DD. However, I need to put more time into checking things out on my truck to say for sure. Things like creaking noises and such (albeit minimal) may annoy some people on a DD.

I looked at the johnny joints and may use those as they are able to be lubricated and protected from weather. I found some Currie johnny joints for around 30 apiece. Let me know how these arms work out and if you do a Panhard bar.

well johnny joints cost $30 for the cheapest ones, and you need 4 for lower links. so $120 plus they need weld in bungs which are about $30 for 4 and then you will need jam nuts too. and those cost about $25 for 4. So for johnny joints you are looking at about $180 in joints alone. $20 in hardware, and $60 in tubing.$260 is just too much for material to lessen squeaks. Heims can be lubricated, and they do the job just fine. I just could not afford Johnny joints while im in college and making $10 an hour

I'm going to buy some heim lube if for nothing else than because it's good to lube them once in a while, but honestly the little bit of creaking here and there doesn't even bother me. I expected it to be a lot noisier than the stock setup so I'm actually surprised it's as quiet as it is.
If all someone wants is strength, I would go for Toytec's LCA skids. You could also get their .250 wall replacement LCAs, but they are $299. The heims provide added strength, but also added flex for a cheaper cost, but the trade off is a little noise if you let them dry out. Jason's don't seem to make noise hardly at all, mine do. That's probably because it's been cold and wet in the mountains this week though and Jason is in the desert.

Mine have become very squeaky once, but a shot of wd-40 quieted them up. I am way happy with them, all linked trucks make noise. Its a crawler so im not too worried
and i did talk to Brian about that lube. Hopefully it works and the dirt doesnt stick
