Now you just need some blood red nail polish to fill in the 4WD shift lever! Just takes a little bit to fill in the recesses, very easy to do while it's not in the truck, and cleans up with paper towels and nail polish remover if you don't like it or make a mess. I did mine in black and really like the difference it made.

My start up image stays on screen for at least 4 seconds.
IIRC, a blink of an eye is 1/10th second!

Thanks! It took me all last weekend to set all of those up. I had a similar setup in the ceiling of our 2011 tC so that we could see if our son was sleeping without waking him up. In the 4R I decided to add the LEDs to the front fascia of the seats pointing forward. It turned out much better than I hoped, and my son likes having the light in the back seat (from the ceiling) to play with his toys or read while I am driving at night.
I also added some similar lights to the cargo area along with 2 cool white LED strips to help with seeing back there and for camping.
It's funny you mention that. My wife asked me the other day if there was something we could do to make that patter on the 4WD shifter stand out. :thumb:

Mine only stays up for maybe a second.. sometimes it last a bit longer other times quicker. Very random.

I just did mine on a 2016 Trail Premium and it worked fine. Make sure file extensions is all caps. For example... "Image.JPG" or "Image.JPEG". Although it works, it doesn't stay on long at all so use the display off image if you don't use your screen much.

Also, for those who want a perfect fit, the image size that worked for me was 1000x530. Happy customizing!
Thanks for the tip! I've been playing around with some Star Wars stuff (I'm a volunteer with the 501st Legion/Rebel Legion and do charity work). When I get my screen done, I'll post it up.

I'm not embellishing - no need to get cute homie. It stays on for 0.2-0.4 secs. I timed it with my iphone a few times because I thought all the cocaine I do messed with my perception of time. I guess by your math that is 2-4 blinks of an eye.
Would a video of what I am speaking get you to chill out? A 4 second startup image would be fabulous. Shit, I'd settle for two seconds. Just to make a point, I know what the image is ( I took it) and it goes by so quickly I can still make out zero detail before it goes away. It literally is "the blink of an eye" to a casual observer.
Maybe [MENTION=73851]007Tacoma[/MENTION] and [MENTION=83083]rigtec[/MENTION] could provide assistance since they seem to be so interested in biological eye blinking timeframes, or you could post a video of your 4 second long start up screen?

...uh... mine stays on for almost 4 seconds. I didn't do anything to make that happen. Entune systems have all kinds of weird issues. Maybe yours is just super human fast? Would that be a "feature"? Mine does not have that feature. However, my Entune system likes to shut off bluetooth and randomly restart. Tell me how to disable that "feature", and I might be able to help you with your super fast startup time "feature".

What does that mean and why was my name dragged into this bull-ship exchange? My Limited is a 2012 and isn't capable of 'StartupImage' personalization so I had no interest in exploring alternative imagery....
After posting a picture of my new 2016 Toyota 4Runner Premium, a buddy told me that my truck looked like a Stormtrooper.
So I went with that theme, since I'm a member of the 501st/Rebel Legion Star Wars charity costuming group. I made this my StartupImage:
And while I was showing off the gee-whiz features to my friends, I mentioned that it comes with a new ion propulsion system with phased plasma conversion. That got a laugh.
But seriously, I do plan to add some stuff to it. I've already mounted a spare first aid kit I'd bought for my 2014 Xterra in the liftgate, installed an envelope cargo net, and plan to replace the interior bulbs with brighter LEDs. I have roof rack cross bars on order. Not really sure how much more I want to do after that. Might add some LED fog lights behind the grill, just because I can.
Most of my driving is city/highway, with weekends in the woods (I do historical reenacting when not doing Star Wars Legion stuff), so I don't plan to mess with suspension and wheel tunes, but I did see some mods to the ceiling cargo hooks that looked interesting. One fellow has mounted a shotgun rack in the ceiling that appeals to me, so that may come down the road.

It took me forever to get the exact size but this is mine!!! Download it if ya want!!!
I stole these two images to use as my new "off" image. I also grabbed the non-pirate thin blue line but it was too "bright". Something to consider when you upload these is how they will look at night. I prefer a darker image so it won't kill your vision during night time driving. Both the Back to the Future and the crumpled American flag are nicely subdued.
