4Runner Trail not available in So. California?

Sorry if this has already been discussed - am new to the forum and could not find a thread.

Just got off of the Toyota Live Chat because I had some questions about the Trail Edition and its availability. The person on Toyota's end informed me that the Trail would not be available in So. California. Sure enough I tested out the configuration page with different zips and it was available in other locations.

Has anyone else heard this nonsense? I cannot believe that it is true.

This may be true intially but I am sure this will probably change. You can't trust any preliminary information as I live in So California and one dealer told me that they will not have any 2010 4 Runners until January which I am sure is mis-information. Why would the website put up the 2010 4Runner 3 months ahead of availiability

I tried the configurator this morning and the Trail Edition was not available. I just tried again, and both Norcal (94587) and my old Thousand Oaks zip code (91360 - SoCal) show the Trail.

Interestingly, the NorCal zip shows the availability of the optional navigation package with KDSS but the SoCal doesn't.

You might want to give it another shot. It seems the situation is "fluid".

The Web site is changing based on available inventory or vehicles on the way in the next 3-4 weeks. As inventory gets bigger, so will the appearance of various option combinations.

Check with Carson Toyota on getting the TE. I've heard a lot of folks have special order Toyotas through them.

fwiw, the TE wasn't showing up in my zip code the other day and now it is. so it's definitely a dynamic availability.

Just checked 95608, and its now available. For fun, I built a TE as close to my 09, and without the nav system that mine has, the 10 stickered $37,188--about $300 more than my 09 with the TomTom nav system built-in. Interesting.

Same here: I posted earlier about the non-availability of the TE in my area - now it appears. Hopefully more colors coming soon!!
