4runner trailer plug harness- relocate?

I have read through every old thread about the terrible location of our 7 and 4 pin harness location and was hoping someone has a solution that does not involve adding an extender. I want to permanently relocate the harness and I'm sick of getting on my back to hook up a trailer. I tow a lot and use both 4 and 7 pin trailers.

For the life of me I can't understand why they did not make a cutout beside the hitch in the bumper to install the harness.

I don't mind cutting on the bumper if I can make it look factory but hoping there is another solution out there.

Thanks!

Thanks and I missed that one! I need a dual 4 and 7 pin socket but this gives me hope that I can fit something in the space. That is the exact location I was hoping the plug would fit.

4-Runner trailer plug harness relocation

I have a 2021 4-Runner and to plug in my trailer lights I have to lie down on my back to use both hands to hold the 4 prong plug in one hand and hold the plug cover open to plug in lights. I use my trailers often and am trying to figure out a way to move my trailer light plug so that it is easier to plug in trailer lights. I went to Toyota dealership yesterday to see it they offered a bracket or method to move my plug in, but nothing was available.

I've read a few of the comments here about using an extension, but do not like that idea because of needing to keep the extension plugged in all the time to avoid having to lie on ground just to use my trailer lights. Has anyone found an easy way to move/relocate the plug in location?
