4runner TRD Pro

I have this on my AMG but didn't go for it on my TRDP. The films 3M or Xpel are really designed for highway driving debris usually picked up by sports cars sitting low to the ground. The cost for the film and installation would have cost more than $1000 and for a SUV that is an everyday driver and occasional trail excursions, IT didn't make any sense for me (your use case might be different just letting you know my take).

I have a white TRDP and the last vehicle I had Xpel on was white too and after a couple of years there was dirt starting to collect in the corners and the texture just didn't shine like new. It was also a pain to take off, took almost an entire day between the full hood, fenders, bumper and mirror. In 5 years it will still be cheaper to get the bumper and hood sprayed professionally and not have to deal with the film if you have that many chips.

I now embrace the dirt, mud and debris

I respect your viewpoint and understand your experience with film. I deal with a lot of trails that have stout overhanging bushes and trees, the film keeps my attitude black paint from looking horribly scratched. The OptiCoat seals any exposed film edges so dirt wont collect. It also protects from harsh dog saliva that drips on the doors as dog hangs head out window. Additionally, I dont have to look at those annoying drip marks and swirls that are so visible on black. Trying to repaint particular sections of a car is asking for more trouble, in that it will be really difficult to match the old paint. I understand your take and appreciate it. Its always good to look at others' situations and understand that everyone has different constraints. Thanks

4Mogger,
You must have driven through Salida. My wife told me she saw a "CDOT" orange PRO. She loves the color. I have the only White one here.

Almost, I was on 285 to just south of Buena Vista and then turned west on 50 just west of Salida to go over Monarch Pass.

I have yet to see another one. I did see a black one in Denver on my way out of town.

Anyone done any seat covers yet? I have had Wet Okole covers before and I liked them. Was thinking of doing the orange and black and having TRD Pro stitched on the seat backs in Black.

Anyone using any seat covers?

I got a new set of TRD PRO emblems and plan on putting them on the bottom right corner of a hatch like this photo. Anyone else do it?

Back a few pages ago I posted that I added the TRD Pro to the left side of the lift gate and to the passenger side of the dash.

Is there anybody still waiting for their TRD PRO?

I cannot find any TRD PRO in my local dealers. All my local dealer said they sold out all TRD PRO and will not be able to order anymore from Toyota. Does that mean I have to wait for 2016 TRD PRO come out?:crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:

Did wet Okole for the back seats and headrests. They had to re-make the head rest covers after they sent the first batch because they were totally wrong, way to small and the wrong shape. Seat covers make it a little tough to fold down the seats now but it's doable.

It your heart is set on the current colors, I'd pull out the stops to find a 2015. If you want white, it is safe to wait for a 2016.

I can take the orange or black. Will prefer not to have white truck again since my current vehicle is white. However, they dont have any TRD pro in any color. I guess I have to wait until 2016 model come out. Or I can buy a Lexus GX460 instead.

Just because you can't order one from the dealer does not mean that they aren't out there. New Toyota 4Runner - in 80224 Area - on Cars.com
they are still trickling in as allocated inventory and sometimes don't have a buyer attached- that's where you swoop in!:hunter:

Also, I just "built" a TRD PRO on Toyota's website. You then have an option to find vehicles near you. There are 4 sitting at dealer lots in my area- 2 black, 1 white and 1 inferno....

My dealer told me the same regarding inferno 3 weeks ago. I had one on order since Nov last year, but the dealer did my have much clout with toyota. Apparently there is a pecking order. Interesting that my dealer tried to get the one from alderman in Vermont that I see is now sold. Three weeks ago I gave the dealer 48hrs to get one and they failed. After 20 mins on the internet I secured one that was on a train between Portland and Iowa city. Drove down to Iowa city and did part exchange and proudly drove my inferno pro back the 434 miles yo upper michigan.

Wow, how did you do it? what app/website that you can search for the inventory from other dealer?

Thank you for the info. I did try to build one and check the inventory after it, the website spans and then freezes. I guess it is because there is no one close to my postal code. Anyway, that was good info.
