4runner TRD Pro

so I had a conversation with a sales guy at the above mentioned dealership about the TRD Pro kit... this is all from his mouth:

"Two words, Raptor... Killer..." in reference to the Tundra TRD Pro Kit

"The TRD Pro Kit is replacing the Baja T/X series from the Tacoma"

"Suspension will use upgraded Bilstein's, extended travel rear shocks"

"2-3" lift kit"

"TRD Wheels, beadlocked" (probably simulated again)

"Large Fender Flares"

"Possible 8 speed trans" (I'm assuming in the Tundra)

"He heard a rumor about having LED lights as well, and he did namedrop Rigid Industries"

I asked about the supercharger, and he said at his meeting on Monday when this was all put out, there was a hint of performance upgrades, but no information was given to him then"

He has my contact info and will call me back as soon as he can confirm/release any additional information.... we shall see

TRD exhaust and TRD intake

i see a "like" button next to your post but no "bullshit" button

I'd think the TRD exhaust and intake would be included, as they were on the Baja T/X series... I wonder if the v8 could be supercharged??? man, this would be a tough choice as the v8 would definitely have a higher tow rating... but the supercharger, on demand torque... I'll stop what daydreaming and just hope its released at the Chicago Auto Show in 2 weeks...

subscribed. This is really annoying...annoyingly AWESOME! I've had my 14 for less than a month, but you'd better believe I would trade her in for a supercharged model!

Interesting to note, the 5th Gen TRD Intake does not fit the 14's and no model number has been released yet. If they do a TRD exhaust, it will likely be a Borla Cat-Back with a TRD Stamp...that's what it was on my 3rd Gen...

v8 in 4runner is not going to happen again in my opinion. if you want a v8 move up to a lexus GX.

edit : wanted to add if they do put a v8 in a 4runner, they will bump pretty close to a base GX nicely option/package out at around $55k

right now a LE decked out is around $45k, add a v8 in and your pushing $48/50k. not that much of a stretch to $55k for a new GX.

Just about to say this, the CAFE regulations probably won't allow it unless they dump the Sequoia. If it happens I am back in a 4Runner tomorrow, but I highly doubt it will. Not in this current gen, maybe not ever.

Based on the advert, I don't see anything really out there other than the TOYOTA in the Tundra grille. No Raptor fenders or anything like that.
The commercial says prototype, so there is a chance that the final product will look different.

No V8 for sure in the 4runner, If anything we might be getting a diesel. Im a tech at Toyota and i can't even find any info but i haven't tried too hard. I also just bought a 14 TE dammit:wacko:
