roof rails end caps are black, the bar between the caps actually looks dark grey. lower panel below the tail lights looks different or it could be me.
rear step is blacked out.
rear emblem & 4runner lettering surround is blacked out.
obvious replacement of the limited badge with raised TRD Pro lettering.

Guys, I don't think we'd be seeing that much sand being thrown up if it wasn't supercharged..:behindsofa:

You guys realized that all the blacked out bits (minus the blacked out rear bumper skid/trim thing) are all already there on the 2014 TEs right? :caked:
Clearly from both pics, you can see more space between the tire and the fender well than stock. Using the 5.5" known from the wheel lugs I scaled the fender clearance at about 9.5". That's 3.5 inches higher than stock give or take allowing for error.
So we know there is a lift, we see the skids, it likely gets the TE treatment with Locker, crawl control and KDSS. It get a lot of blackout, badges, lights, wheels, exc..
So if a loaded 2014 TE with NAV and KDSS is about 40k (sticker) as the base for the TRD Pro...then you...

Is there enough room left to allow a supercharger? Without pushing this thing over 50k?
I don't think so...I don't believe you can put that much stuff into a package like this and make it affordable to the target group.
Knowing that everything I said is speculation, let's assume it is a decked out TE with the cosmetics we know of, lift, tires, wheels, skids and so on, and let's assume it also has a super charger......
How much would YOU pay for it?
For argument sakes, let's pretend you don't already have a T4R you are paying on, and you can afford a new vehicle..

Actually I think [MENTION=66316]1engineer[/MENTION] did some calculations and found that based on the arc of the sand being kicked up that only a turbo diesel engine could've done it.

Check out the top left. Looks like they're taking a hint from the FJ and throwing the old school "Toyota" emblem on it instead of the logo.

Doesn't look lifted from the back, also, why would they put cheap-o GrandTreks on a premium truck with a lift? If they want to lift it, and supercharge it, then why not go down the Raptor route and give it a wide body kit to match and some proper tires, not something you'll be taking down to Big O Tires the second you buy it... because if you charge Raptor desert truck cash, you want a Raptor desert truck.
Assuming it costs 50-55k, that's a lot for minor tweaks, and you're mostly playing for the blower.
Also, if Toyota does offer a "factory" lift, which aftermarket manufacturer would they go to? And if they would do that, could you just walk into your Toyota dealer and lift any 5th gen with that kit?

Same with the tundra. I would guess all three will have that.
Back looks lifted to, there is several inches of space between the tire and the fender.
But you are right about the tires, Toyota kinds eats it at picking tires.
It's pretty clear the focus of the TRD Pro is the tundra, I think the 4Runner and Tacoma are just tag alongs.
As far as lift, I would have to guess they will use the same manufacture as the Tacoma TX Pro and The final FJ factory lifts, with dampening from Fox.
Personally, I hope it is a prerunner with vinyl seats and two sun roofs, just so I don't have to want it.

BFG TA KO ended up giving many FJ TT owners a headache, so maybe Toy doesn't want to go there?

now that I went back and re looked at some TE's the only thing is the end caps and rear emblem/4runner lettering are black. the bars between the end caps are silver still. front and rear are silver colored. tail lights are led so that section has always been blacked out anyway.
from what I can tell its mostly cosmetics changes from what I can see physically. until 6-Feb we wont know what under the skin that's has changed.
I can see them selling these if the price is right for the urban dwellers. thinking around $960 for the "features" will sell.
us 1% will pass this up probably.
