4runner TRD Pro

It's past experience. TRD has been promising and missing its release dates for a long time, now.

There is a difference between targeting and promising. These teasers are a promise. The off the cuff comments from the TRD guys at the FJ events were targets. I don't think they'd do this sort of promotion if they didn't have something beyond the normal TRD bits, either.

Fair enough, and I hope you're right, but I won't be holding my breath.

Has TRD ever released any official release dates for the S/C or were all the "release dates" unofficial off the record conversations? I don't recall seeing any press releases. I've only heard info second hand from the TRD guy with the actual working sc.

The TRD pro will have unique black-painted front grille and all-new red paint. And it’s more than just good looks. All-new performance upgrades like TRD Ultimate Edition Bilstein® shocks, a race-inspired TRD off-road suspension, TRD front skid plate ,and TRD supercharger continue a nearly half-century tradition of tough off-road performance. With a limited production run, the 2014 TRD pro has raised the off-road capability bar once again.

Time out.... You need to continue if you have any more info. At the very least let us know how / where you found that. OR please tell me your messing with us so I can un-list my truck for sale. :playball:

EDIT: Hoping it was a play on the 2014 FJ seen here

TRD Pro at the Chicago Auto Show

I will be going next Wednesday and was wondering if you guys want any specific pictures of anything.

"Toyota will be hosting its first news conference of the day at 9:30 a.m. at the Toyota Drive Center area in South Hall. Toyota will debut the new TRD Pro Series for the Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner in an area reminiscent of an adventurous desert landscape. Spanning 30,000 square feet, the course’s dynamic obstacles include a 14-foot-tall hill, a water crossing, a giant see-saw and various frame twisters, side tilts and suspension-focused challenges."

Pics of the interior would be good, assuming if its different than a stock 2014. Mostly curious if they did new TRD shift and 4x4 gear knobs Hoping they did a version of the Tundra TRD shift knob that's not quite as bright silver colored...

Close up of the skid plate would be appreciated as well (confirm it will bolt onto a 2010-2013 w/o issue if you can). I haven't looked at a 2014 TE skid close up to make sure it's the same as previous 3 years...

And, if the supercharger isn't included and/or available aftermarket, a good pic of you kicking all the Toyota/TRD reps in the nuts would be awesome (a backhand slap is an acceptable substitute for any Toyota/TRD ladies as needed).

Almost forgot, of course we want close up pics of the new "Toyota" grill and info on parts needed to mod an existing grill!!!

They didn't change anything functional from 2010 to 2014, so other than KDSS/non KDSS, the frames will be the same.

The TRD SC, if it is released, will be an option for all 2010+ 4Runners and FJCs, it will never be part of any factory offered model, I don't think. An incredibly small percentage of T4R and FJC owners will pony up for the $5K+ SC, I predict.

If the TRD SC is released, I will buy one as soon as it is released and do a write up of the install. If it isn't released, I'll get Nitro Gears instead.

Motor, motor, oh yea and the motor! A V8 would be the only thing that would make me change the trail I currently have ordered.
Thanks in advance!!
