4runner TRD Pro

Got mine today. 10 miles and the reviews are good so far! Way more comfortable than my Tacoma that is for sure. Gobi ranger rack should be here any day. Didn't get any pics tonight because it was dark before I got home. If anyone has any questions let me know....

Sweet man! Congrats and drive it like ya stole it! :hello:

the first ones were delivered early this month. i got mine on monday of this week. white and black were the first colors to roll off the production line, if you ordered inferno you're waiting until a bit later this year.

Yeah I got inferno. I did see press releases about them shipping late September, but never read anything about inferno going out later. Thanks for the info. I guess I'll be waiting then. On top of that I'm in Jersey. So North East plus I got the color that was delayed Lol. Kinda hope I get it after the winter though - don't want to ruin it first thing especially because I don't have a driveway/garage (yet). :-0

I find it interesting that they initially said that the TRD Pro's would be limited production (2 per dealership). Now we see that dealerships are getting many more than that already and people are still able to order one.

Sneaky bastards.

Not sure that is exactly true, from what the GM told me yesterday they are allocated based on your overall volume numbers. I bought mine from Hendrick Toyota in Kansas City, which is a big dealer. They were getting three, mine and two others which they didnt know the colors on or when they were going to get the other two.

I have heard exactly the same thing from my Dealership. They are saying that every TRDP they are going to be getting (including mine) has already been spoken for. They will not have any to sell right off the lot. They are also a large dealership with a large network and they are getting a decent number of them. Thus far every single TRDP Taco, Tundra, and 4Runner that has shown up was rolled off the truck, cleaned up and delivered to the buyer that ordered it.

I will vouch for this 100%. Not only the truth but makes a whole lot of sense from a distribution perspective.

I'm glad someone knows what is going on but all I'm saying is that when these first came out I read that they were very limited production (something like 3600 will be made). Now I'm hearing that anyone can order one at any time. That's conflicting information.

I haven't heard that anyone can order one at any time. In fact I keep hearing the exact opposite from people I trust. If you really want one you had better put in a order because trying to get one new off a dealer lot is going to be tough. Dealerships are going to continue to take orders even if they don't know if they can get any more, that is what they do, they make money and push to sell more vehicles. Realistically, if dealerships push enough and Toyota sees a profitable move to meet demand we may see more than the limited numbers advertised. That would be a good thing for all of us and help ensure the livelihood of rugged Toyota 4x4s rather than the crossover AWD junk that many automakers are moving towards. Long story short is if you want one, you had better do something about it quick.

Also correct. Extremely limited run of production per year and you cant just "order one"...
Hook up with the largest dealership you can find and cross your fingers

The salesperson I'm working with told me she has a white trdp coming mid November to late November with my name on it. She did provide a VIN, but no definite date yet.

Does this sound right? I purchased my current Taco from this agent.

Pickup mine today and drive it 300 miles home. Honestly I could not be happier! The ride is better then I expected and the tech is wonderful! Happy customer here!

That does sound right if a vin was provided. It may be on the same boat as mine if it left port 10/9 and is estimated to come in 10/22. Then its a rail and truck journey and should have more accurate dates

Does anybody know how to look up a VIN number to see if the car has been sold. I put in an order for the Pro the last week of July. I was told the Pro would be in late oct/nov. On 9/9, I got this from the salesman

"I think this is the Update You've been Patiently Waiting For. You 4 Runner was built on August 6th, Shipped from Japan August 9th and arrived in the United States, New York September 6th. That's a One Month Cruise. What a Vacation. We are expecting its ETA September 23rd.
Thanks Again for your Patience. I'll keep in touch. Don't hesitate to call or email if you'd like!!"

Dude won't answer my calls or emails. So this week I asked for the sales manager and I have been told twice that he would call me back. Today I was told both the sales manager and the sales guy would be in on sat. They took a check for a deposit, but I can't see where they have deposited the check. I am upset that they won't communicate with me in regards to if they sold the car that I ordered. If they sold the car, most likely just going give up on trying to get a Pro or a 4runner. Bad part is I already order a SS bumper.

I saw an Inferno Tundra today. That is a wild color. Are you still getting Inferno, 1engineer ?

Actually no. I, like you, might go a different direction. I am getting a Trek Stache 8 soon though! 1X11 with 140mm Fox front lol.

That's how it worked for me. I put a deposit down last month and was given a VIN #, when it arrived i got the call and went and picked it up.
