4runner TRD Pro

Just ordered the 4runner TRDP and saw on that some of the 4runners online had the sun/moon roof option. Did anyone get this....

Not possible in the Pro to get the Moonroof, signal mirrors w/ puddle lamps, and other 'premium' odds & ends. You need a Trail Premium to get all of these items plus the Pro 4wd/offroad systems. Odd I know, since the pre-production models online and in the brochures all had these items.

Toyota's option packaging on these '15s is odd.

I picked up my TRD Pro Inferno on Monday late afternoon.

I was driving home and I was sitting at a light when a vehicle pulled up next to me on the passenger side and I just catch a "flash" go off on my right side.

The driver took a pic of my new ride and guess what he was driving....

He was driving a badass Jeep Wrangler Rubicon- lifted with a snorkel.

That tells you everything you need to know.

I'll post pics later after I get it dirty.

Now I get to shop for some nerf bar/running board/steps.
I'm looking at the NFAB's. They just came out with another style for other vehicles that looks really sweet. I'm going to contact them to see if they plan on making them for the 4Runner.

Here's a link. http://www.n-fab.com/products/sfID1/147 (crap. I just called nfab and they don't make this style for the 4runner b/c the tube size is 3" for their other applications. the 4runner uses a 2" tube size).

I already have the Husky Weatherbeaters front/back/cargo. They are a lot thinner than I thought they'd be but they fit really nice and will do the job!

I LOVE this rig!

Out of curiosity, what has been the turnaround time on ordering and receiving a TRD Pro? I ordered an Inferno back in lat November and as of today I have heard zilch, not even a possible build date. I'm hoping I'll get one this year! :)

Thanks,

Steve

Ordered (put deposit down) 12/27, production started 1/7, shipped 1/12, in port 1/20, dealer ETA of 2/10-2/14

Amac,

What color did you order? I had heard that they are building the trucks in color batches. No idea if there is any validity to that. I see that you are in CO. What dealer did you order through?

Thanks,

Steve

Steve I got a Super White Pro. When I first looked I found another white, a black one, and an inferno one, forget which dealers had what. I ended up working with Zach at Groove Toyota, he was the first person I talked to that didn't tell me something about the truck that I knew was wrong (such as available with a sunroof) and has been great to work with. Hope this helps.

I ordered mine late September and it just came in last week and I picked it up Monday. My guess is you should expect it mid to late March.

I was told that the Inferno batch was getting made after they sent out a bunch of white and black. That ended up being true. Not sure how they are deciding what to make right now.

Good news is it appears as if they have fixed the "clunk" as I have yet to experience it. Word must have gotten back to them. It hasn't been very cold here yet (surprisingly) as it's usually below zero every day here in Jan. Tonight it will get down to about 10 so I'll test it out and see if I can hear a "clunk".

It's worth the wait for sure! I remember waiting 2 1/2 years for my Harley. That was hard.

I just ordered a white TRD pro yesterday. Was told that it will take 2 weeks from Japan toyota to confirm the order and get an eta for dealer delivery . Total approximately 8 weeks.

Looked for one for a few weeks no joy. MY experience may differ since I am purchasing through the port with SET.

Ended up ok'ing order for one on
23DECEMBER2014
Told it was supposed to be built
08JAN15
Got the actual VIN Number
19JAN15

Looked like this for order:
ASG 8674 C 15 JTEBU5JR7F5230780 04X0 LF22 601 JX 0 N
AP/FRY, STEPHEN CD A FE A GV4R2 TR A

Updated that it was assigned a vessel
20JAN15
Estimated arrival at port
12FEB15

Since I did not get any port options it will be pushed through the port since it is already sold. Go through the port packages for the model, Wash, Gas, Inspection. Then to Keith Pierson Toyota in Jacksonville FL since it is in the same city as the port I figure less that 5 days from start to at the dealer. I do have to drive down to Florida from NE Georgia. Though not a big deal as my Father lives on the beach North of St Augustine and South of Jacksonville Beach. It will be nice to visit family, get my truck , visit my aging grandmother, do the remote start and other little upgrades in the warmer weather before we head back north. I will let others know how this goes. The ordering process should not be different for any of the other models.

Picked up my custom made sliders/steps from the powder coating company yesterday. I hope to have these mounted by Saturday.

Any one have any experience with the black crushed oval step/running boards? They are part of the "XP" series apparently only in southeast Toyota. I bought some off eBay and am hoping to install them when they come in but wanted to know if anyone has seen or had any. I was given the part number below by a dealer as black running boards that will fit.

Part #: 00016-89013

eBay: 2010 2015 4Runner Black Crushed Oval Running Boards SR5 Trail Only 00016 89013 | eBay

Attention TRD Pro Owners: take your rigs out and enjoy them!

Anyone have people flashing their lights at you at night? I feel like I'm blinding a lot of people and wonder if my headlights are aimed a little high.

Those will look money! Waiting (shocker) on my ShrockWorks.

Are you getting the diamond plate option?

Do you know the specs on how far they bump out?

They look as if they will work pretty well as a step. What are your thoughts?

Man the east coast is LAME. Some of these shots from out west are awesome.

So very true!!
On a side not, the N-Fab rockrails that I ordered at the end of Oct should be in next week. I hope they are going to be worth the wait and are going to be worth it period. I guess we shall see soon. These are the ones that were on that Baja 1000 chase 4runner special edition thing.

Thanks for the compliment. I wanted the Shrock Works one, but after hearing about the wait time, my fabricator buddy built me a set for around the same price, plus, I'm not an "off the shelf" kind of person. I like custom stuff.

I have a set of lower trailing arms being fab'd up next.

If they weren't adjusted by the techs that installed the suspension then yes, they may be a little high. Mine definitely were after I set my Bilstein 5100's at 1.75". Here is what I used to adjust mine back to a less objectionable level.
