4runner TRD Pro

What was the price? Unfortunately it looks like it has already been sold.

If anyone is looking, Racine Toyota just north of Chicago in Wisconsin has a MGM 2016 TRD Pro. No sliding rear deck but has the all weather mats and cross bars and the dealer applied $2500 worth of paint protection to the vehicle

Not many of these trucks left so to find one near Chicago I'm shocked its not sold yet. They just got it a week or so ago

Painted my hood scoop insert today...I think it looks killer, particularly against the white Pro scheme (although it would probably look good against any Pro color scheme).

I removed the insert from the hood (easy money) and stripped it down/taped off. My first attempt was with Plasti-Dip, yielding dismal results. I prepped properly and applied numerous (very) light coats at the recommended distance, but ended up with texture comparable to spray-in bed liner, which I'm assuming has to do with the Houston heat/humidity. So, I peeled it off (which took quite a while) and shot it with some Satin Black PPG in my buddy's booth (as I previously did with the roof rails). I know, this is permanent (all you vinyl guys)...Good thing it came out flawless.

Bought a Quicksand one last week. Also took a lot of searching and frustration... MGM was my first color choice, I only saw the tan color on pictures and wasn't quite feeling it. Not many new 2016 TRDPs left out there, the only gray I was able to find was way marked up to almost 50K. Found a quicksand one 4hrs away under MSRP, went to check it out, loved the color and got it. Color looks much better in person, plus it's unique to 2016 TRDP. Looking for a rack, after the ordeal of finding the 4R I didn't expect the prices and wait times on the Gobi and Baja.

I hear ya, picked up a quicksand myself. I am in Phx and flew to vegas to get it then drove it home. nice compliment to my 99.

Cant wait to pick up my TRDP but I'm not looking forward to getting dings in parking lots. Any suggestions on how to best prevent this other than not parking next to other vehicles?
Get some sliders. A ton of em stick out just enough to keep that jerk with the door swing from hitting the paint.

HELP - buying a TRD pro tomorrow...options need advice on!

Hey guys - almost at the end of my search. I live in LA... and I need the advice from you guys if either of these are a decent deal.

1) $44k all in - 2015 Superwhite TRD Pro - 11k miles. Shipped from PA to CA. Platinum warranty until March 2022 - Dealer.

2) $46k all in - 2016 Superwhite TRD Pro - 6k miles. 300 miles away. Factory warranties - Private seller.

Thoughts?? Dealers around here want 10k over invoice... not sure what differences there are in 2015 vs 2016? Any info would help.

Note - the 2016 has running boards and cross bars. The 2015 has rear cargo deck.

Did you end up getting that? Seems like a good deal - I havent seen dealer prices close to that around here...

Got a quote for a new TRD with no options for -500 under MSRP of 42,750. Does this sound like a good deal? I know their is a what did you pay for thread, but I thought I would get better response here.

One dealer said it would be a 2017 but conversation ended there, for now

Have you tried looking at dealers outside of LA? I would look into the neighboring states like NV, AZ, OR.

The prices on the used ones seem just as ridiculous. You can BEAT those prices on a brand new one if you look hard enough out of state.

I assume all in means taxes tag etc, so for number 1 that's also shipping.

Both seem good, I would inspect the heck out of the one 300 miles away and try to get it for less, lot easier then buying from across the country.

The MetalTech sliders seem to be working for me and they usually have them in stock so you don't have to wait months to get them.

How about ordering a 2017 TRD with no miles for about the same price? Not sure what colors will be available besides the cement.

Also Toyota dealers can only charge MSRP. They can add a destination fee and some other misc fees. Vehicles of high demand are bought by used car dealers and marked up 10K but you won't see that from a Toyota dealer.

Man...keep looking. I was in your boat, and patience paid off (no pun intended). I'm in Houston, and yes, all the ones I could find when I was shopping four or five months back were $2-3K over MSRP, plus dealer add-on BS.

I ultimately got mine bone stock (2016, new) for $46K, out the door. I ordered it from a dealer I've bought three (now four) Toyotas from, and therefore avoided any add-on BS (Just delivery, and TTL). I had to wait 2 months...but am glad I took that route. Considering the '17s are hitting the floors, this also may get them to come down a bit on remaining '16s.

I'd hate to see anyone buy a used one for what you could get a new one for (or more) without due diligence. Just my $.02

That actually looks really good. Mind posting a few more pictures of different angles?

Sure - Here you go (not sure how many more angles I can get though). I photo-documented the scoop removal process, so anyone who wants tips, let me know (a couple small things to be careful with).

I have but haven't seen anything for close to MSRP. I am literally ready right now to buy one - just don't want to feel totally nailed on it. If anyone here has a good dealer contact or experience anywhere on the west side of this big beautiful country, I can reach out immediately!

Both do NOT include california taxes - which are at 10%. Ends up getting in that $50k territory... which is nuts. Yes - option 1 includes covered shipping.
