I still don't understand the big price jump to buy a used 2015. I ordered one of the last white 2016's and still waiting for it to be delivered. I paid much less for a new 2016 than every single used 2015 I shopped for. Yes, I saw some 2015's in the $44-$45 k range. For 3 grand less I got a new 2016. Yeah for me?????

Because most car buying is done by impulse buyers who see something, like it and buy it.
To most people what's an extra $30-50 a month to get what they want right now. People today only care about monthly payment. 72 months/84 months for financing is the new norm.
Car dealers live off of these people.
And everyone of my friends and family buy cars this way. That's the sad reality.

Yup. Most of my buddies have bought cars like this. A coworker has Prius and his payment is almost 750 a month! Yup - A PRIUS. Granted it's the coolest Prius I've seen - but that's not saying much.
A few grand here and there adds up. I could afford to pay a few extra on my TRD Pro (when I find one) but I that doesn't mean I should. If I save 3k - that's a vacation for my girl and me. Or a ton of mods. I'm willing to be patient for that new one at sticker or under OR a used one at a killer deal - just not seeing many killer deals out there....

On another note - what's the consensus here on extended warranties on these TRDs? I had (and used) extended warranties on my Jeep in the past, but that was a Jeep

First post on here folks. I currently have a 04 SR5. However I've put a deposit down and I'm supposedly allocated a 2017 4Runner TRD Pro in the Cement color. I'm in Richmond, Va and the dealership has guaranteed me that I'll get one. Who else has ordered a 17'? And should I bank on them coming through with it, since there seems to be a supply and demand issue. Thanks!

It seems Frontier Toyota in Southern California got a new 2017 TRD Pro in white according to there Facebook page. They stated it has already been sold. Although they state its a 2017 I thought the badge of the new TRD was going to be TRD Off Road on the side.

I also spoke to my local dealer and they told me the same. I'm going this Thurs to put a deposit down on a cement as well. They told me between NOV and DEC the new 4runners will arrive to lots.
I haven't bought a new car in over a decade. Plus I see most of you are 4runner owners. I have some questions when at the dealer...
1. What additional fees should I expect the dealer to add on aside from the MSRP?
2. They ask for a $500 deposit, will there be a refundable form for me to fill out?

Fees aside from MSRP: title, taxes, potentially delivery charge. Keep in mind if you trade in a vehicle it will be subtracted from your purchase price, this lowers your final tax liability. Best of luck.

I provided a credit card # as a deposit ($500) and never had a charge come across. FWIW, they had my # for 2 months as we waited for my vehicle to become available. When we came in to complete the deal, they handed me the original form back before we'd even signed the deal.

Rear Bumper w/o tire rack
Hi all, I have had my TRD for two years now and done a few things to it:
Shrockworks sliders, lifted the front with toytec spacers to level it out and numerous small mods (speakers (this is a big deal)) , etc.
I wanted to order a rear bumper (pref shrockworks) that has no spare tire carrier and will bolt on and allow me access to the spare. It looks like the shrockworks one requires drilling a hole for the jack tube and this is not something I want to do (please spare the flaming as my sis is getting one too and she wants a "easy" bolt on). Is there any manufacturer that offers a true bolt on that will only require some minor mods? I understand there are always going to be mods where the bumper meets the body for the appearance aspect.
