4runner TRD Pro

How did some people get the dealer to shave a few bucks off on the TRD Pro? I tried to get $500 off and offered to pay all cash, they said No. I asked if they would let me put $10,000 instead of $5,000 on credit card so I could at least get more points, they said No. I'm going to buy it whether they budge on the price or not, but just curious if anyone has any other ideas? Negotiating gurus, chime in please.

Cash doesn't mean shit these days...at least to dealerships. I paid cash for my 16 Pro and still took it in the shorts because I don't have the time to dick around with sales people and their games. Some folks here got decent deals, I wasn't one of them and I am ok with it.

dealers make less money if you pay cash...they want your financing....

My dealer didn't want my financing apparently. They couldn't even come close to what I had available through the credit union. I was told last night the best they could offer with great credit was over 4%. Yeah......I'll pass!

Cash probably works against you. They'd rather have you finance and get the interest off it for x amount of years.

It's weird man. I had banks not giving me anything below 2.7% with 800 credit and I walked into the finance office and they gave me a great rate without any push.

What kind of fuel mileage are you guys getting? I have a cement, granted it has just under 1,000 miles, all stock, seeing 17 mpg. I have reset a number of times, and that is the best I can do.

Yea - I'm 2000 miles in on the new rig and getting around 18 combined. I hit Mammoth twice so far and that is 1200 of those miles right there highway :)

Can you request no front plate? Doesn't every vehicle have to have one?

Mine doesn't have it - came from Texas and is in CA now.

I have 2 pros, one with sliding cargo and one without. It's kinda cool having one but i was glad i didn't have one on my second pro. The only time i used the cargo tray was for help sliding out something heavy out. Everyone is different and u won't know whether u like it or not until you get it.

Love my cargo deck. Used it surfing... was able to sit and chill on it and watch the waves. And snowboarding was easy to throw gear on it changing in the lot... without rubbing up against the dirty car. To each his own...but who needs to stack stuff to the roof in these things?

my wait is over! my pro will be at the dealer tomorrow! can't wait to finally pick it up. 2 months to the day since i ordered and put down the deposit. supposed to be 2 white pro's on the same truck according to the dealer which will be fun to see.

So 2 months from when you went in to the dealer to buy it? I did that about 3 weeks ago and am dying while waiting... Your 2 months gives me some hope! I ordered mine from Dallas. Where did you order yours?

i'm paying msrp. realized very quickly that the amount of work required to get what i wanted in the time frame i wanted was going to require paying sticker. i was able to get doc fee taken off as well as an awesome trade in price plus a trade in bonus. considering what i would have sold the car for privately, i sort of feel like i ended up with the pro at roughly $2500 off msrp. thats how i sleep at night knowing i'm paying full price for a new toyota lol

So how much did that end up being paid for the car, cash value in the end?

I went in feb 11th and filled out an order sheet with my deposit. We were anticipating a may delivery but the guy ahead of me backed out so I got bumped up. He moved back to take my original spot so he had time to add a sliding cargo tray. My order is local in Washington.

Kbb is 18 for private sale and 15 for trade in. I negotiated To get the 18, then reminded them they have a 500 trade in bonus which I took. Subtract the doc fees which I'm not paying and factor in the tax credit for trading in as opposed to private sale and I think I did ok. I've never paid msrp for a car so in this case I'm chalking it up as a win all things considered!

I did the same. I got them to agree to go on the low end of KBB for my trade in. Still going to try to sell once it's on it's way

I'm curious to know what everyone paid for their 2017 TRD Pro, without tax, title, license and extra fees. Including delivery, mine came out to $42,800. What did y'all pay?

I paid exactly MSRP - Go to Toyota, build and where it says "TOTAL MSRP (MSRP) (AS BUILT)"

I inquired about a TRD pro briefly, and the dealership wanted to sell me what they had on the lot buy saying they are 10 months behind and the price is more than MSRP, etc. I needed a vehicle ASAP and didn't have time to mess around.

In Texas the average price seems to be a few thousand over msrp is what I'm seeing.

Is it possible to actually go into a dealer with a build sheet and buy the TRD Pro exactly how you want it without paying extra and listing to their bull crap?

Depends on the dealer you are dealing with. I put deposit down for a cement TRD Pro 2/13/17 with only slide out tray as option. Received word last week mine will be here between 4/15-20 just the way I had asked. Not too bad for a small volume dealership. They quoted me 2 months so they delivered as promised at 1k under MSRP
