I inquired about a TRD pro briefly, and the dealership wanted to sell me what they had on the lot buy saying they are 10 months behind and the price is more than MSRP, etc. I needed a vehicle ASAP and didn't have time to mess around.

In Texas the average price seems to be a few thousand over msrp is what I'm seeing.

Is it possible to actually go into a dealer with a build sheet and buy the TRD Pro exactly how you want it without paying extra and listing to their bull crap?

Is time a factor? if you need it ASAP then -

Short answer - Unfortunately, 99.9% no.

Long answer - TRDP are not stocked in large numbers by any dealership. Dealerships get a very limited allocation and some may get none. Most of these are customer orders. Some of them may be dealership orders. If you have very specific order sheet, you will need to find a dealership that has that car in stock or a customer ordered TRDP that has arrived at the dealership and has your exact specs and backed out of the deal. Then you need to get the dealership to agree to MSRP - which they don't have to if they don't want to.

Although I wanted the TRD Pro, instead I built up a brand new TEP because my wife wanted the heated seats and sunroof. I ended up paying a total of $42,600 for the following;

TEP w/KDSS
Toyota TRD suspension complete (dealer installed)
Toyota TRD wheels/BFG KO2's
Toyota TRD grill (personally installed)

Because of the discount on the TEP of $4k I was able to get a lot more into my truck for less money overall while keeping everything under warranty. Yes, I had to do some more "management" to get this done.

Obviously this is not for everyone, but it's an option if you cannot find or unwilling to wait for the TRD you want. Or if you want the sunroof and or KDSS.

Depends on the dealer you are dealing with. I put deposit down for a cement TRD Pro 2/13/17 with only slide out tray as option. Received word last week mine will be here between 4/15-20 just the way I had asked. Not too bad for a small volume dealership. They quoted me 2 months so they delivered as promised at 1k under MSRP

My deal worked out very similarly. I'm up in NE Ohio, smaller volume dealer. I put my deposit down 2/18 on a Barcelona Red, it's in port at this point and expected to arrive 4/15 - 4/20. Excluding taxes and the extra fees I came out at $1,000 under MSRP.

By ASAP I couldn't wait a month or three at the time. Used TRD are nuts as well, better off to buy a new one because the used ones I see are just as much as a brand new one. I'll take my time the next time and be sure to examine all options though. I've been holding off thinking a new engine may come, or maybe I'm dreaming for a diesel

I'm curious to know what everyone paid for their 2017 TRD Pro, without tax, title, license and extra fees. Including delivery, mine came out to $42,800. What did y'all pay?

That is an excellent deal - Does yours come with sunroof?

they're 52,195 here before taxes.

And taxes are 15%. 13% in ontario


so yeah, it's $59k when it's all said and done. Unless you got 15% off msrp.

I did the same. I got them to agree to go on the low end of KBB for my trade in. Still going to try to sell once it's on it's way

In my state trading in results in about 2K value versus selling; due to sales tax paid on full amount versus sales tax paid on trade-in amount. I have a fellow that wants to buy my vehicle for 1500 more than I was offered trade-in. But that results in me paying more.

It's pretty high for us too in Texas. You should be able to write off the new vehicle sales tax on your taxes though (not that you get it back) but I'm self employed and write it off.

You can see the factory paint protection film on the Toyota website. It's a clear bra on the front and you can add thin door edge guards as well. I think you might be better off with some aftermarket film, plus you can choose to cover a larger area if you want.

Just picked up the rig from being tinted. Went with Ceramic tint 25% up front and 35% in the rear (over the factory tinted glass). Matches pretty well and like the look for sure. The shop said it will get a little darker as it dries.

I have it on mine but even if I tried it wouldn't show up on a pic. I got the exact options on mine I asked for when I put my order in back in Dec. Paint protection film, all weather mats, door edge guards and remote start and nothing more.

My thoughts on the options I got:
Paint film- exactly what I wanted
Door edge guards- look nice and if you order them with the truck they come in the same color as your truck so they aren't that noticeable.
All weather mats- I like them. Ive had weather techs but don't like their rear cargo mat. The 4Runner and Toyota symbols on the factory look good.
Remote start- Wanted to take it off but was to late by the time I found out its big time fault. I'm really contemplating replacing it with one that you DON'T have to shut the truck off to get into it.

My total for the truck came to $45005 out the door, completely at MSRP and including state licensing/title fees. Luckily we don't have sales tax here so I actually probably paid a bit less than most.

Window tint looks great! Did they measure it to give you an accurate reading on what the back windows are now? I'm curious because I was going to tint the front and back windows ~35%, hoping that the rears would get to around 15% or so.

I didn't get a reading after they finished, but the place is right up the road. I am waiting until they dry and will go back to check and I can update in a couple days.

I can say that it looks great, not limo tint but a good balance/darkness for my needs in SoCal. Matching with the factory tint is always going to be hard but I think this combo worked great. The front looks a touch lighter and that's okay with me.

could you post your thoughts on the tint after you've driven at night? i currently have 15% all around on my car and i love what it looks like. any darker at night would be a problem i think. curious to see what you think of your tint over the factory glass is like

No problem, will do!!! I can say I had very similar tint on my last few cars and driving at night wasn't a problem. I will follow up on the readouts after it dries (takes 2 days) and night driving conditions.

FYI - Here is a link to my build thread. Nothing major yet, but some nice little additions. Have to budget this stuff out overtime, too many fun toys and decisions!
