4runner TRD Pro

What is the coverage of the paint protection film Port installed from Toyota? Can someone post pics?

I just got a call from Atkinson Toyota in Bryan Texas. Cement for msrp July delivery ask for Holden.
I recommend aftermarket if you want ppf, but if the Toyota coverage works you can go with that. (covers little bit of the hood and maybe few other spots) I got PPF from my detailer. Full front with wrapped edges. Basically covers everything on the front end and the side mirror.

Although I wanted the TRD Pro, instead I built up a brand new TEP because my wife wanted the heated seats and sunroof. I ended up paying a total of $42,600 for the following;

TEP w/KDSS
Toyota TRD suspension complete (dealer installed)
Toyota TRD wheels/BFG KO2's
Toyota TRD grill (personally installed)

Because of the discount on the TEP of $4k I was able to get a lot more into my truck for less money overall while keeping everything under warranty. Yes, I had to do some more "management" to get this done.

Obviously this is not for everyone, but it's an option if you cannot find or unwilling to wait for the TRD you want. Or if you want the sunroof and or KDSS.

I don't know why more people aren't doing exactly this. I almost went this route, but got an allocation for my cement Pro instead. You can install the Pro suspension on any T4R. It's a little pricey though. But it's engineered specifically for these trucks and it feels great both on and off road.

It's finally here!!!! Picked it up after work and went for a cruise. Really impressed with the pro's manners on the street. I anticipated a rougher ride but it's wonderful. Got plenty of looks especially from other 4runners and a lifted Tacoma that were out and about. Was sad to leave behind my ss but this ride is sweet. There were 2 other white ones waiting for pickup so it was cool to see them all lined up. Anyone still looking for one pm me and I'll give you the contact info of the dealership. They think they can still get them, at least according to the general manager I spoke to tonight.

How long did it take for you? Been waiting just 3 weeks now and I'm dying here.

Cash probably works against you. They'd rather have you finance and get the interest off it for x amount of years.

agreed, When I work with a dealer I play with them and make them think I will be financing and getting warranty ETC they are offering. Then at the time of actual purchase I rip the rug out from under them and pull out the check book and pay cash. Yea the finance person gets mad because they are getting the short straw and having to re do paper work and making less however it works out that I get the best deal because they thought they would make it all back in the long end.

Congrats.

I was getting ready to go out in mine the other day and there was a guy with his daughter right next to it, just looking it over. As I approached he asked if it was mine and was like "Man, that thing is perfect".

If you placed an ordered 3 weeks ago, be prepared to wait. According to the dealerships I have talked to, the wait time is currently anywhere from 6-8 months. This is what Toyota is telling the dealerships when they try to place an order and when the orders will be fulfilled.

Yeah mine won't come in till July and I put my deposit down late February. He's trying to get a trade but doubt it. Told him either way it's fine as I can save and have more money to put down, or get it as quick as possible. Was originally going to wait for 2018 anyway but the cement got ahold of me

I've been searching all over, but haven't found anything and figured if anyone knows anything about 2018's, it's this group. Has anyone heard any news from the NY Auto Show or anything else on 2018's? Thanks in advance.

Honestly. We just got the 2017s. The 2017s colors weren't released until Sept 2016 IIRC. You have a long ways to go.

I figured if there were any changes it would be the tranny and engine from the Taco. Not sure if that would be better or not, but I'm not in a hurry to buy I suppose. If a cement or Super white fell into my lap, I don't think I would turn either down.

The resulting thread on superchargers is locked : does anyone know if Toyota makes a supercharger for the 5th gen?

You can still read a locked thread. If you had bothered to read the last page you would see that no, there are no superchargers available for the 5th gen. If you want to know why, then read that thread. I will unlock that thread when a supercharger becomes available for the 5th gen 4Runner.
