4runner TRD Pro

just noticed something weird on the way to work. listening to the radio while driving, the volume goes up and down on its own. i've had a car before that adjusted volume based on speed to account for road noise but it never went up and down while just sitting at a light. i have not touched any settings yet so maybe i'll start there but was hoping someone knew an easy fix for this

It is adjustable to 3 different levels I believe (hi, med, low or something similar). I adjusted mine while playing with the controls when I first bought the truck and forgot all about it until seeing your post :lmao:

I have it on mine but even if I tried it wouldn't show up on a pic. I got the exact options on mine I asked for when I put my order in back in Dec. Paint protection film, all weather mats, door edge guards and remote start and nothing more.

My thoughts on the options I got:
Paint film- exactly what I wanted
Door edge guards- look nice and if you order them with the truck they come in the same color as your truck so they aren't that noticeable.
All weather mats- I like them. Ive had weather techs but don't like their rear cargo mat. The 4Runner and Toyota symbols on the factory look good.
Remote start- Wanted to take it off but was to late by the time I found out its big time fault. I'm really contemplating replacing it with one that you DON'T have to shut the truck off to get into it.

My total for the truck came to $45005 out the door, completely at MSRP and including state licensing/title fees. Luckily we don't have sales tax here so I actually probably paid a bit less than most.

Thanks for the responses. When I asked I must have looked at the wrong spec sheet, no PPF as an option... with the amount of options i'm surprised it doesn't have it.

I'm being told take it or leave it, no changes to options.

sliding cargo deck
roof rack crossbars
door edge guards
exhaust tip
all weather cargo mats and cargo cover
cargo cover
remote engine start

Adds up to 44,967 msrp. the only thing I want is the sliding cargo deck. oh well.

As long as you get it in before the truck processes at port you can have your dealer change these options, except the rear cargo tray. Every other one is port added. I know this because when I switched from a cement at another dealer to the red, the red already had dealer options included on the order. It hadn't been built yet and I thought I was stuck with the options they had selected. After it had been built and shipped, I asked them if they could change it to what I wanted and they did. I guess that may all depend on your dealer and how much work they want to put into the sale. But I know first hand it can be done.

fishman I can confirm that the dealer I bought my TRDP from said the same thing. Mine was coming in with cross-bars, all-weather mats, and cargo covers. I had them remove all 3 of those and add remote engine start instead and it was no problem.

Not sure what you would be touching up. It's solid black plastic. Any dings and it would still be a black ding.

Ok I should've posted a pic to help. As you can see, it looks gray underneath the black on the garnish. So looking to touch up that area.

If it were mine I'd just hit it with any flat black. Mask around it and such a small area wouldn't be that noticeable. No more noticeable than that brush on touch up paint. Or chalk it up as a battle scar. Battle scars look tough. Tough looks good on a truck.

The dealer is not willing to remove them. I feel lucky just to get a call on this one... This was the first or second dealer I contacted months ago before I was serious about buying. I didn't place an order with them and have not left a deposit. I've been told it's listed as sold in their system with my name on it. Scheduled to arrive to the states the 24th of this month. Happy it's only two hours away from me in SoCal.

I fear any attempt to touch that up with paint will draw even more attention to it. The finish on that garnish will be tough to replicate and the last thing you want is lipstick on a pig. Let it go before you make it worse.

If you are able to get it with no mark up in Socal buy it (as long as you can afford it).

Someone on here needs to get a vehicle delivered. It seems like we are getting desperate, and running out of things to talk about. Bring GreenSky back! At least he kept it entertaining. lol

I work with a jeep guy and put up with his BS until mine arrived and he had to bow down. He finally had to admit it was a pretty bad truck. But for entertainment purposes: A cement "mudding" and a white front on!

Shrockworks sliders finally came in after 7 weeks and the Gobi high lift mounts as well.....those took 3 months.....and they were supposed to be "in stock". They didn't even ship them until I spoke to management, then it took them three days. :AK47: Gobi that is. Great product, not so great customer service.

Anyhow, happy with the results, the sliders are sturdy as hell and stick out just the right amount!

Do they stick out far enough to prevent other doors from hitting your doors?

Do you have a lift?

I notice sometimes my radio gets lighter when I'm driving. Not really when I slow down or speed up. I thought maybe one of my speakers might not be functioning properly. It has only done it a couple times. Nothing I can really pinpoint. I sometimes use the up and down when stopping or starting to increase/decrease radio, but I haven't noticed it doing it by itself.

That is clever, but please don't bring Greensky back. I have to admit I chuckled. But not hostile is nice.
