4runner TRD Pro

Just took delivery of mine today. Deposit down on 2/13 and arrived 4/19. Dealer told me roughly 2 months so pretty spot on. Loving it so far! Upgrades will be Xenon Phillips 4300 HID kit, N-Fab Nerf Steps, Black Out Back Emblems, interior LED lights, Toyota or Husky all weather mats.

Congrats, its looks awesome, especially having the Tacoma in Cement too.

Your mod list is almost exactly the same as mine. I did the blackout kit already and just received my Phillips HID kit plus fog lights and full interior LED upgrade from Xenon Depot. Not planning on different mats or steps, but I have the OEM bug deflector and weather tech rain guards already on the car. I'm waiting on my Gobi rack to arrive, then just need to decide on light options.

Only other thing I have planned after that is stereo upgrade.

Just did black out kit. Toyota should have done this from the factory IMO. How do you like the Xenon lights? Everything I've read seems like they are great. I agree in the stereo. May look into speakers and amp upgrade for cleaner sound leaving factory radio/nav.

I just the Xenon's yesterday, haven't had a chance to install them yet.

Would highly recommend against the NFABS. They dont really serve a purpose and also cut off ground clearance. They are certainly not to be confused as rock rails. I HIGHLY recommend the DEMELLO OFFROAD rock rails.

Just got word from my dealer that my cement has arrived! (2 months from deposit) He wants to keep it over the weekend to have on display in the showroom! lol apparantly has had multiple offers since last night. Supposed to be one of the first few in Canada! Too bad!

Cheers,

I'm at exactly 20.0 mpg average after a 180 mile loop in mixed rural hwy/city driving..

I'm at around 1200 miles... averaging a dismal 15.7mpg.. but majority of those miles have been in city. very few highway miles and some off-road mixed in. wouldn't trade it for anything though.. you want fuel economy get a crossover or a sedan

Hey all,

I'm new here and to 4Runners. I am trying to get in on an allocation, but I'm hearing different stories from different dealers. Dealer 1 says they have a TRD PRO in cement arriving to port next month, and that no one has reserved it yet (they are in the middle of Portland, so this seems a bit odd). They want a $3000 deposit to reserve it.

Dealer 2 says the first dealer is full of it in that they'd just suddenly have a vehicle available next month. The second dealer is "building up their showroom" and allegedly has a bunch of allocations for the year. They took my $500 deposit, and said I'm 4th in line and that they've been getting about two TRD Pros per month lately.

The first dealer called back and said they did not want to take my deposit and risk upsetting me in case the factory is late to get the vehicle out. I interpret that as they are indeed full of it.

All the other local dealers said they were out of allocations. Thoughts on dealer 2?

Thanks for the help.

there are 1000+ toyota dealers. they make ~3000 trd pros a year? I doubt the dealer is getting 24 TRD pros a year.

He never said anything about that containing through the rest of the year, but good point. Is it pretty much down to finding a lucky cancellation or getting a reservation for the next year? Thanks.

I found many of the dealers in the area to not be helpful and only seemed interested in luring me in to sell another model.

I did get mine from one in Portland (east side) and at that time I was told they did not have an allocation. I was told they would put a request in for one and received a call the next day that the order was accepted. I have no idea how much could have been BS regarding order/allocation, but the vehicle arrived at Port of PDX 4 weeks later. The port delay kept it out of my hands for another 3+ weeks. Dealer never took a deposit either although we discussed a $500 refundable deposit.

My other dealer I usually use had told me they would take and deposit and try to order, but could not guarantee anything. I elected to keep looking.

Arkansas dmv doesn't recalculate?

California, you just pay the difference.

No, they do not... They look at the BOS for the vehicle and then charge you 6.5% of that amount. If you paid any amount in another state, I imagine the AR DMV's response would be, "not our problem". I've always understood the rule to be you pay sales tax according to the state in which you reside. I have probably brought 15 or so cars into AR over my lifetime and that has always been the case. I have NEVER paid sales tax on an out of state vehicle bought from both dealerships and individuals.

Haha this was a response to an old post huh.. Took me a bit to realize you were responding to my quote.

I guess it varies state to state? In california, they just recalculate and you just pay remainder if you did pay tax out of state.

well after getting dicked around with so many local dealers esp the ones who wanted 5-7500 over sticker i was just about to give up. well i figured id call a few dealers out in PA and see if they had anything etc. well after online chats and phone calls one dealer emailed me back Freedom Toyota out in Hamburg PA about 1.5hr away from me, told me they had one cement coming in with no ones name on it and that it was "in transit" with the options exactly as i wanted, (floor liners and cargo tray) so i jumped on it. so long story short i put a hold on it and approx 1 week and 2 days later i get this picture from my salesman.....

and picked her up the next day and drove 100 miles home this time took me 2 hrs lol
