I ordered mine 2/4/17 and took delivery 5/3/17.
Dealer was told PDI only, do not touch otherwise. Monday it is getting clearbra and a 22ple treatment and then the fun starts!

Awesome, It sounds like mine left Portland about a week after yours, but it was going through KC, and then on to St. Louis. I'm hoping to hear something in the next few days! Awesome looking vehicle. I'm also requesting PDI only, as I am also doing full front end clear bra and a ceramic paint coating!

So, just looking at what the Southeast Toyota region had and which ones will be available and noticed this red TRD Pro looked like it had red brake calipers. You can see it on the front wheel. I don't think it's the suspension.. If I'm crazy (which certainly could be the case), at least it's a good mod idea for someone!

Toyota has a $299 "caliper covers" option. Maybe that TRDP has said option. You got my attention and I went to Southeast Toyota and started building a TRDP. That's how I found out about the option.

Just checked and confirmed. Apparently we get screwed over in my region (gulf states). Sliding cargo is standard, while we don't get some of the options that Southeast gets (caliper covers, a freakin DVD system, LED illumination package, 2 in 1 LED fogs..). Now I'm annoyed. Should have just minded my own business lol

Hahaha... yea. I got a TRDP about 2 weeks ago (I'm in the gulf sates region) came with the cargo tray, which I was ok with. But had other useless and expensive options that I didn't want, but had no say in the matter. The LED illumination and Fogs packages are nice! Wish we had that option as well.

I'm in the same boat as well. Mine should be here in June (so they say). Actually got to negotiate them taking off the cross bars and steps since I was going aftermarket. They said they couldn't take anything else off (glass break sensor, charging and connectivity kit, vehicle protection premium package, remote start), which is all stuff I could care less about. I would definitely be down for the LED fogs and Illumination package. Wonder why they just don't offer all the options in all the regions.. Also wonder if I could just drive to one of those regions dealerships and pick them up or order online and have a local dealership install them..

Sounds like your Pro is coming equipped with all the same options mine has. However; your dealership was much nicer than mine. I tried negotiating with them to take the steps and cross bars off, but they didn't budge. At the end of the day I guess I really didn't mind. I wasn't even planning on getting the TRDP. I needed my new tires balanced on my now sold 2016TE; when I drove up to the dealership I saw the Pro and immediately went inside to talk to a salesman. I don't recall how long the Pro had been there (maybe a few days) but they were quick to tell me that 3 other potential buyers were coming from Atlanta and Dallas to get it (first come, first serve). I looked at the guy and said "let's talk numbers", 2 hours later, I was driving off in it. LOVE that truck. I don't know how much of a headache it may be to order and pick up from an out of state dealer, I'm sure it could be done. My area doesn't get too many of the pro's, I was just happy to get my hands on one of them.

Dang! You really are lucky. I have yet to see one sitting on a lot. I've seen a few TRD Pro Tundra's though. I ordered mine through one of the biggest in the state for a better chance at getting one rather than going through my local dealership since they're kinda small. I was originally going to wait for the 2018's and see what colors they had while saving money, but I really liked the cement and they said it'd take 3-4 months for it to arrive anyway. I'll only slightly regret the decision if they come out with a dark green haha. But then again the resale value is insane and I could probably just trade it in for that one for little to no loss..

Agreed, lucky is the word. The TRD Pro Tundra is a sexy truck as is the Tacoma TRD Pro, but I prefer the looks of the 4runner. I thought about waiting for the 2018's, but there is no clear indication as to what and when Toyota plans to update the 4runner, so it wasn't a deal breaker for me. Also, that cement is one of the sharpest colors I've ever seen on a vehicle and complements the TRD Pro looks exceptionally well. And lastly, you are correct, the resale value is insane on 4runners and specially for the TRD Pro. If and when you decide to trade or upgrade, you will find yourself in a good vehicle value position. No we just need to cross our fingers for a dark green color option!

All of the options you and TRDSchin are referring to are Port installed options, regardless of the region. Each region just has their own individual choices picked out by the distributor. For example, running boards are the most diverse accessory I think we have all seen in between regions. If you are going to buy a vehicle that is already on the lot, some of the options can certainly not be removed, i.e. paint protection or glass etching of the VIN. Now, could the dealership maybe wiggle a little on the price and or decide to remove things such as running boards and/or crossbars? Sure, but totally up to their discretion as they have already chose to pay for it and would have to re-sell those parts. If they had someone already lined up to buy with the options, then they may take that chance. Port installed accessories, kind of break down like so:
Distributor decides on what accessories they want and can legally put on the vehicle to keep in fairly intact from original spec. They then decide on a price that is higher than what they paid for it, plus install time. The Distributor then offers that accessory as an add-on to the dealer for that higher price. That dealer then can choose their price for what they will charge/ bargain with the customer. Just another trick of the trade in Dealerland. :AK47:

That's kind of the feeling I got while talking to the salesman. I still tried to negotiate, but in the back of my mind I knew I was just burning time. Would this have been another series 4runner (SR5, Limited, etc) I wouldn't have budged, but knowing how hard it can be to find a TRD Pro, I just accepted I didn't have much leverage on this deal.

Along these lines I was called for a TRD pro yesterday that I was on the wait list for. I figured it wouldn't come through. They are offering 36K over the phone for my TE with 6500 miles. I know the TRP price is set and its decent at base price and only added the sliding rear cargo and cross bars. Obviously they won't negotiate on the Pro and the offer for my TE seems more than fair.. is there anything else I should try to negotiate? More for the trade? Extended warranty etc? Not used to buying a vehicle where there isn't much negotiation. Overall so far seems like a more than fair swap out, but there must be something I can get to sweeten the deal ha :dancin:
