4runner TRD Pro

Maybe you guys can help. Have a guy with a trd pro that's doing a 2/1.5" lift. He wants to do spidertrax, Right now he has stock tires on the stock trd pro rims, and later wants to do 285/70/17's. Will he rub at all with either with the 2/1.5" lift with the SPIDERTRAX? If so, what would need to be trimmed?

I'm in the process of purchasing my 2017 4runner TRD PRO in cement from Pappas Toyota in St. Peters, MO.

The sales guy Nathan Tevebaugh just emailed me right now that he has a 2017 4Runner TRD Pro in white with "all the bells and whistles" priced at msrp $44,573.00 and comes with 10 year(200,000 miles) Powertrain warranty.

Give Nathan a call if you're interested and tell him Ted V.(i get a $100 referral:heh:) referred you:

As per my research on this forum, every vehicle is a little different. Some have rub and some don't with 275's and 2/1.5" lift. But with 285's and spacers, he will most likely have rub. Depending on how bad the rub is, he will have to trim/remove mud guards and/or trim the front fender lining and/or BMC.

Someone may have to correct me, but I believe 285 is too wide for the stock TRD Pro Rim.

Just picked up mine on Monday 7/17/17 from Doxon Toyota in Aburn, Ken was the sales guy, stand up guy. At MSRP.

Made the decision about a month ago b/c:
1. wanted the cement
2. was affraid of 2018 being uglier and color not available and didn't want Toyota sense and the extra cost
3. affraid of 2019 sixth gen being worse
4. possibility of no Pro being made next year
5. production of 2017 will stop soon.

I'm pretty sure production has stopped.

I was resigned to just waiting on the 2018- in fact, I was really warming up to the thought of getting a Cavalry Blue.

But hearing they were changing over to a version of the Tacoma 3.5L engine spooked me, maybe wrongly so.

So I re-doubled my efforts and was lucky enough to be the early caller to Rocky Mount, NC last week (they were good folks to work with, by the way, and didn't engage in the sort of price gouging that many dealerships have.)

Thats my old truck. It was listed on their site for $52K did they raise the price?

holy shit that place has some insane prices on used pro's! how much did they give you for yours before listing it for $52k? i'd sell my cement with 2200 miles if they want to make me some money

Bummer , I think the cavalry blue is going to be pretty cool and rare being the last year,. it might be quite valuable. Whoever told you the 3.5 was going to be in the 2018 gave you some incorrect information.

Small world!

Was it easy? No, got pissed off a lot. Process:
1. Magic toyota in Edmonds was asking $6k over msrp, I asked to put deposit down at 8pm and told them I have a decision at 8 am, they would not do it and truck sold next day at 1pm.
2. I emailed every dealer with in a 500mi driving distance (I had to drive my 2015 xterra pro4x to trade) telling them i am only interested in a cement pro and to contact me via email only. My phone and email exploded with over a dozen dealers contacting me everywhich way offering me sr5s, limiteds, etc.
3. I keep looking and call on two in Oregon i found. Neither dealer would take deposit but both were at msrp. This was on a Wednesday, one sold the same evening and the other the next morning.
4. Doxon emails and tells me one of his clients that ordered one backed out of the sale and i can be next in line. Truck is on a boat from Japan. I put money down but not trusting it, i keep looking....
5. Find one at 5 star in Aberdeen, pure dumb luck...driving by to go surfing and can't believe my eyes. Didn't have remote engine start but i'm working a deal anyways, time frame is about same as arrival of "my" truck.
6. 5 start deal falls apart, they won't take a dep, it was at msrp too.
7. Find another one at Toyota Seattle (may still be there) at "only" $2k over msrp. Don't take the bait. My guy assures me mine is now in Portland getting processed.
8. Meanwhile my dad tells me he went by the Toyota dealer in Wenatchee and one was just delivered but sales guy was closing a deal on the phone!
9. Mine shows up "early", guy unerpromissed and over delivered, good job Ken!
10. I drive over 40min to do the deal and there she is.... exactly what i wanted. (thought I might show up and they might try to talk me into a silver sr5).

Phew, only took a month and a lot of BS. Not happy with how Toyota handles the supply and demand, etc.

Installed my tent, Rigid fogs and all LED/HID lights the same day (ya, I was stock piling parts).

I was the one that backed out of that Pro over at Doxxon because I found one a month earlier after waiting for 5 months. Glad to know it went to somebody in this group! Congrats!

I like how cement looks with a black roof top tent! Is that a autohome columbia RTT?

I've been running 285/70s for emm probably 20k miles on TRD rims and although not recommended spec wise. I do a lot of offroading and have had no issues, however I do plan on swapping the rims out eventually. Piece of mind if I'm airing down low low. Understand and that was a concern I faced but now worries thus far...

Thank you and yes, it is Autohome (with a shitty plasti dip job left over from a blacked out Xterra).

Coug, crazy you waited 5 months for it! I have a feeling I will have it for a while... its my 3rd runner, I'm glad to be back in the Yota family and will nevr stray again.... before I pulled my head out and came back I went through two G wagons and a Pro4x.... long stories, good trucks but not Toyota.
