Basically saying that I’m not paying for the pro suspension if my intention was to rip it out and replace it. In all honesty I’m leaning towards buying the pro suspension because it would provide the lift I’m going after and it’s a proven OEM setup.

Longtime Lurker.. hoping to get the advice of the TRD Pro Pros.
I am looking to purchase a TRD PRO and am trying to decide between 2 trucks: This will be a second car for me to get back in the woods/up the mountain. I will probably add some sliders/steps, rack, leveling, lights, stereo.
1: A 2015 TRD PRO Inferno (love the color). This truck is priced at $41K with ~25K miles on it. I've driven it and its perfect. Not a single scratch or chip on exterior or skidplates, its never towed anything, etc. 8 months left on factory warranty.
2: A brand new 2018 TRD Pro in Super White. I can order this for roughly 43.5K
I love the color of the 2015 but am worried about future resale. Is orange a tough color for resale? Its going to be a 3 year old in 30 days. I'm also having trouble reconciling the fact its just 2500 less than a new one.
Any thoughts/advice?

You shouldn’t have any problem with resale but do not pay more than $38k unless you really love that color.

I would go with the new one. No miles and full warranty at no cost. Therefore, you would be not replacing tires/brakes, etc. as soon as if you went used and your overall costs would be lower in the long run.

Unless you in love with Inferno it’s not even a question. Go for 2018 Super White.

I bought a used inferno for 37. Talk them down on that price or go for the 2018. The inferno should come with a certified warranty to 100k miles. But as stated above you'll be doing your maintenance stuff sooner. Go with the one you'll be happy with. If I wasnt in love with the inferno I'd have gotten new.
Makes more sense to go with the new one.

He's replacing a 2003 4Runner SR5 Sport Edition which only has 47,000 miles and he is the original owner too. This will be his 3rd 4Runner.
The dealership granted our request not to get it detailed because I like to detail all of our new cars myself, so I'll be looking forward to that next week!

I got my 2016 TRD Pro nearly $2k under sticker in Santa Rosa at Freeman Toyota from John Coffaney. So have others on the forum after me. However I hear he now can only do MSRP. GREAT GUY
Definitely contacted them since they'd do MSRP but they couldn't give me a specific time frame.

Did you talk to John Coffaney? He will update you and also if someone backs out you can luck out and get it earlier than expected. You have nothing to lose by getting on his list. If you get one sooner someplace else you can cancel. You aren’t committed until you pick it up. I wish I lived closer that dealership was top notch. Their service dept was friendly and they did an overview and John took kkkr a full hour to go over every option making sure I Could operate it, and they have a full time tech person to help if you need it with the audio or cell phone or any other gadgets for life of the vehicle.

The dealership was jerking me around, saying it was already spoken for and then saying it would be available for bids when it got off the ship. I wound up going elsewhere--hope you had a trouble-free experience with them.
Haha weird. They were actually phenomenal. I've been working with them since April. Kind of unusual they would say it's available though, we put a deposit down Dec. 11 and car got off the ship on the 28th.
