This will be the official build thread for "Stimpy" as dubbed by my wife. We just purchased a Jeep Renegade as her primary vehicle, so it is only suiting to name both vehicles Ren, and Stimpy. A little bit about myself,I am a long time Ford owner. I've own fords since I was about 16. I have everything from a Ranger and multiple F-150's, but now it's time to head over to the expedition side of things instead of mudding and tear parts up constantly.
I have to admit one of the biggest reason why I bought a 4Runner was Expedtion Overland, talk about hook, line, and sink.
This was my first serious build, a 95 F150. This thing was awesome, I couldn't get it stuck even if i tried, but boy was it a money pit. I loved this truck until it met its demise with a ditch around 90 mph. Rough subject still, don't ask.
This has been my Daily Driver and "expedition vehicle" since 2008. I actually only put the leveling kit and tires on it last year, but has been modifying it ever since purchase. This was a 2006 F150 XLT 4x4 with the 4.6L (talk about getting lucky, the 5.4 motors were crap), and a solid vehicle. I have only had 2 problems with it and were minor. I hate to see this truck go but thrilled about my new purchase.
Which brings us to where we are today, 2016 4Runner Trail edition w/o KDSS. I have been bugging my wife for the past year about buying a new vehicle, not really knowing what I want, but always bringing up a 4runner. I fell in love with the 4runner after watching season 2 of Expedition Overland. Toyota marketing department knew what they were doing, and I sure they saw sales because of the show. This is the day I picked him up.
