Great video. Just curious, when you hit the governor, does it automatically slow the truck down or was that you easing up?

When you hit a curtain speed the ECU will cut power and therefore limits speed and hints why you'll get a jerky feeling. I used to hit it all the time before I defeated the speedlimiter.

Inform me on how you defeated that speed limiter! Was it the APR X1? I disabled it for a while by cutting the VSS wire on the ECM, but I soldered it together...can't play with traction control in an suv in the rain on the highway!

Correct it was with the X1. There are three different tunes with the X1. F1 is on a stock motor with cats and have the factory speedlimiter on. F2 is cats are still on but speedlimiter is defeated. And F3 (My current tune:boink No front cats and speedlimiter defeated.

I've had my 2004 V6 up to 120mph one time (according to my TomTom GPS). I've had it at 119 several times.

How fast are you on F3? Noticeably faster then stock? Give me details. Stuff is pricey lol

I can break lose the rear end in second, plus sliding is alot easier with just throttle and a good weight transfer with a good down shift. HP and TQ wise IDK I never dyno'd, same with top speed although I know its alot faster than 120 mph. Sadly though APR isn't making the X1 anymore so you'll need to look into getting another EMS. mapecu2 or the newer mapecu3 or the pro efi 48 or 128 is what I would look into, though IDK how the rest of the electronics like the speed, tach, ac, etc will react to a stand alone EMS, thats the beauty of the X1. If you just want a good bang for the buck get a urd MAF cali.

APR X1 is very reliable, I have had no problems since the install. The X1 cost me $1300 and yes you can tune anything with what you have. The base map, F1, is good for 30 hp and 20 ft lbs.

Yes, plus more. it's basically a full stand alone EMS that works with the factory computer so the gauge cluster works, traction control works, air bag, etc. If I wanna run race gas or E85 all you do is upload a tune or map from a laptop or flash drive and go. Or you can tune it yourself. Like if I wanna run the TRD 425 injectors in place of the 295 injectors all I do is enter the value or difference in the fuel injector tab and it compensates for that.

Could you provide a link that details this system. I can't seem to find any real info on exactly what this system does and how it does it. I also can't find any dyno data with before and after. Have you ever dynoed or timed your vehicle. Many top aftermarket tuner (for many years) have not been able hack the Toyota/Lexus code.
