Took this photo after helping pull my mailman's fwd mailman minivan out of a neighbors front yard lol. 4runner does just fine in snow. Tires make a big difference but ultimately the driver makes the biggest difference.

...and the backcountry avy conditions are moderate to high.

welcome to Colorado all the time haha, always touchy. my main bc partner moved to portland a few years ago and summits hood regularly and tells me the pacific snowpack is just a world of difference (generally speaking) in terms of comfort level analyzing snowpack

I have skied Colorado, Utah, Idaho, etc....."Sierra cement" is definitely a different animal, driving and skiing it.

Ya I've skied a fair amount in CA and the PNW (and Utah) but just not in the backcountry.

Don't miss all the black ice in Oregon during harsh winters, that's for sure!

we have a full blown level 5 French Toast Emergency here in NH, I think it's the system that you folks in NC and VA just had. only looks like we're going to get about 6" maybe 8... I'll try and take some pics of the runner in the snow, but decided to close the office for the day so not much occasion to actually go anywhere. the news is hilarious though.

This is from last year as we haven't had much snow yet this year. Drove around all day in the mountains, never any issues. It even handled really steep snow-covered inclines without any fuss in the Mud & Sand mode. :thumb:

All the 4Runners I've owned have done well in the snow -- just have to drive it appropriately and not think you're invulnerable just because you have 4-wheel drive.
