4Runnin Tahoe's Build Thread

I finally had some time to do my lift this past weekend, but I completely forgot to buy a set of tundra coil spring insulators. I know that some people say you don't need it, but for $19 shipped, I thought I'd might as well do it. So I will have to put off the lift installation until next weekend...or the week after that...:frusty:

 
Fixed my CEL today. (P1135). Saved like $200+ buying the A/F sensor off amazon and doing the work myself :bigok:

Toyota wanted like $300 just for the part!
I bought it off amazon for $118. I bought Denso which if I'm not mistaken is the same brand Toyota uses...so...you do the math.
 
GOT MY FRONT LIFT IN TODAY! The installation went smoothly. We ran out of time, so we weren't able to get my rear in. It's dark out right now, so I'm not gonna take any pics.
I took it for a test drive, it's kinda hard to fully feel the difference in ride quality since the rear isn't in, but I can tell that it feels very smooth and stable in front.

Something that is kinda weird, is my steering wasn't out of alignment, or at least it didn't feel out of alignment. I'm sure it needs one and I will get one, but having it feel "aligned" let's me wait a little longer so I can get my rear lift in and maybe some new tires. I was expecting my steering to be really bad once we finished....but I guess we're just that good :whoo: And trust me, I know what a car that's out of alignment feel's like, my mom used to use her Yukon to attack curb's/medians.

So how does my UBJ/Cv angles look?
I don't think the angle is that bad on the Cv's....(I did not install a diff-drop)



 
Sweet build you have going on here, Sam. Thank you for posting detailed info on the mods your doing i.e sound clips of the magnaflow and year of the new grille.

I really like your 4Runner, white 3rd gens look awesome IMO.
 
Lift!

After hours of crow-bars, WD-40, Por-15, sawing through old shocks, and my dad shouting "F*CKING TOYOTA!" many times, we FINALLY got the rear lift in.

The 890's are giving me 4.5in of lift.... I know they're going to settle, i just didn't think they would be that high off the bat.







 
Btw, I love the ride. Very smooth but still feels like a truck.
Does anyone know how long it takes for the rear springs to settle?
 
very nice truck. I realy like your grill. we are running the same lift, I havent noticed much settling in mine and I installed them nearly 2 years ago, how ever I just changed shockes from OME 60027s to the billies not sure if that made a difference. look forward to seeing more.

Yeah, I was confused too. I don't know if it was because of the weird angle of our court/driveway, or if it was because I hadn't driven on them yet. But I checked today and I'm getting roughly 3 inches.
 
I bought these little and relativity cheap LED lights. They are flood lights and are pretty damn bright! I first put them in front of my car, but I decided that they were kinda useless up there and I didn't like they way they made my grille look. So I put them in back of the car today. I can now use them as backup lights, trail lights and flashing/blinding tailgaters!
