Hey guys! Just an update on my DDM tuning HID install
(did them myself!).
So the steps on how it worked.
8000k :
1) I plugged the ballasts in where the original headlight bulbs were, and then I plugged the +/- into the ballast.
2) took the ballast, and plugged the end into the OEM headlight wiring. (Take note: I didn't know the polarity was reversed, so mount them flipped!)
3) Mounted the ballast(s).
first ballast was mounted on the bracket for the power steering fluid, (saw this done on another post on t4r!) I used double sided tape, then wire ties!
second ballast i put infront of the headlight, near the battery. I mounted it on some bracket, and used double sided tape (not as much to hold it as to prevent the two things from hitting each other) then used wire ties.
3000k (fog lights):
1) plugged the bulb into the housing, and removed the original. Plugged it into ballast, and then plugged the ballast into OEM wiring. (the second bulb wasn't fitting on the right side, I think the housing might of been screwed up. I fit it in, and then used tape to hold its position (temporary.)
Now for the ballasts:
Im sure anyone who tried to mount ballasts down there realized that there isnt much of a place to put them, so I found a pretty sweet spot. above the headlight, near the location of where the bumper ends (each side respectively) there is this black part. I taped the ballast there, then took a wire tie around the back and held them into place (probably easier to take pictures to show, I'll show them soon
)
and then, I used the knobs on the headlight to lower the headlights.
(haven't received any flashes from on coming traffic!
)
I totally recommend DDM! their shipping was okay, it was like a week and a half. The bulbs and ballasts are of superb quality, and customer support was quick.
