A moded rx-afs can be the same performance as a s2k projector, and its half the price of it. Just saying if u want to save some cash.

Did you take the bulbs out of the protective plastic cases? at first I had the same reaction - WTF these bulbs are too big. But they are actually the transport cases and you have to unscrew the bulb out.

oh come on now !
they are about 1/8 inch too long
bottom out on both the fog and low beam front surface/shield just to the point that they will not seat on the twist lock of the socket
too much to grind off, and too risky to the bulb

LOL just checking :tongue: They fit fine in my 08 and have worked great so far (only 3k miles). I have the same DDM H11 set in my motorcycle and have worked well over 4k miles.
I've used the following three sellers:
VLEDS, Xenon-Depot/kbcarstuff and DDM Tuning.
For years.
DDM Tuning HID's are now in my motorcycle and have been for ~4000 miles w/o a problem. I had VLEDS stuff and the Xenon-Depot in my 4Runner w/ little problem.
Because I like seeing how certain (non-critical!) things can "break" I don't mind goofing around and spending a few bucks to see a "what if" scenario. If it affects the longevity of my 4Runner (e.g. oil, fluids) then no - the best only.
If it's something that I can swap back and replace (e.g. bulbs) then sure, why not?
The DDM stuff works fine. If it doesn't, you're only out a few bucks anyhow and you can easily swap back to the original setup. You toss the relay and have a very nice and easy plug and play kit.

Milage has nothing to do with bulbs or ballast, its the hours that the lights are on, u can have the kit for 4000 miles, but how long were the lights on during the whole time? Maybe less than 500 hours.

Last 2009, my kit came from DDM in SoCal. DDM is in SoCal right?
Now when I track my package, its says "accepted in China".
They ship from china now. People have comented that since the switch over, that's when their quality has gone down hill.

ha ha, yes I thought I musta been doing something stupid since they would not fit any socket I tried. But I did take them out of the protective bottles.

Failure of intel in my part:cry2:My package is sitting in San Francisco USPS sorting facility for 6 days now and its the 11th day from payment. I know USPS is known to move shipment promptly, and rare for a package to stay in a facility for 2-3 days unless weekend or holiday. But then LOL! this one is from China! so I figured out they needed the bomb squad to check it before they load it in their truck. Seriously, if I bought it from ebay us seller/shipper, I should have receive it by now.
DDM Grade:
Quality = A (for the price)
Shipping = F (Since they ship from China now, customs sorta thing is strict and will hold international mail/packages longer during inspection)
Buy again from DDM? NO!

I'm on the verge of buying the DDM tuning HID plus kit (35w) 4500k for my '08, and was wondering if I need or should buy the relay harness. I'm guessing you can but don't have to run the kit with a relay harness? Has anyone that ran them without the relay harness run into any problems, like burnt wires or anything else destructive to the original state of the vehicle? Also what is the difference and or benefit of the dual relay to the single relay?
I have had 5000 degree DDM HIDs in my 4R for 5 (I believe) years at this point. Work great. No relay at all. I did replace one bulb when it seemed to have trouble firing at very low temps once.
If you don't want to buy Chinese products, you will have a hard time in life these days, unfortunately. Kind of funny thing to hear from guys driving a Jap truck.

I think it's just piece of mind, some people say that by adding a hid kit to the stock wiring/ relay setup that it will burn out quicker.
It's cheap piece of mind to add a $10-15 single or duel relayed harness if you're worried about burning out the stock wiring/ relay.
